Fenrisians Wolves no longer available

Recommended Posts

US, AUS, UK, CAN, JAP, SWE, rest of world have all listed Fenrisian Wolves as no longer in available online.

Edit: checked rest of nations all list them as no longer available. So let the speculation begin.

Is rebasing a viable explanation?

Probably the most reasonable speculation, or new rules. However this is a SW forum we can't have reasonable speculations! You dissappoint me Karack Blackstone!

I’d love them to officially go on the small ovals, the 40mm did them no kindnesses in gameplay or even modeling IMO.

It’s a relatively new kit though so frankly I’d be surprised if they went away unless we truly were getting the homogenization treatment with other Astartes. Not going to get worked up yet though. ;)

Well the cyber wolf kit is resin, and we know GW is slowly killing resin/metal kits off. So could be a additional sprue for a cyber wolf.

What is the background on resin?

Was that what they marketed as fine cast?

Is it inferior to plastic?

I have been reading about 3D printing lately and uv cured resin is actually quite popular in that field (SLA printing)

A kit with multiple new cyberwolves would be very welcome. Pulling the non bionic good boys is still be an odd move though unless they were making some big combo unit as an upsell.

It certainly would save me tinkering with a bunch of those new enforcer mastiffs.

I can't say 100% certain but I do know there are more fines/taxes in producing resin than plastic (for at least US) for a company. Additionally why run 2 separate model making materials when you could switch to one. From every business aspect its better to go with plastic than a mix of resin and plastic. Maybe one day when 3d printing has become refined enough to mass produce models we will see a return to photo-resin, but i doubt we will go back to plaster-resin (i think that's the correct term for finecast).

For hobby it's great (except for the chemicals and clean up) and you aren't being fined/taxed by the government.

let's go way out there with our speculation: a new dual kit that builds Primaris Canis or Primaris Harald thst comes with a retinue of Wolfkin and cyberwolfkin.

replaces three resin characters with one stone.

They just had a price increase too. Fairly simple sprue as well. Think its too late in 8th for reboxing/new rules

UNLESS

Theyre back to being wargear for characters.

Would love a new dual Fenrisian/cyber wolf box but thats too good to be true

UNLESS

Theres new wolf beasts in the box with Ragnar

I have two different theories.

1) the new price point was too high, so they're rebooting them as a unit of 10 with a different price point.

2) alot of space wolf players are experimenting with brigades. Being able to fill the FA slot low cost units is pretty strong.

Yea like I’ve said the fen wolves are still fairly recent and easily hold up still. I think you’re right, even just based on history where “x” disappears people freak out and it’s a reboxing.

Sometimes it’s just the box style though, if I recall they still had the background art vs the grey new style. We’ll see shortly I suppose.

I’d just rather reason it to be something mundane and be surprised vs disappointed. If we get anything other than Ragnar it would be more than most get so kind of unlikely in my mind.
