Traitor Nulificators

You could also make them as a kind of contingency plan for the other traitor legions. Iron warriors go to tallarn all because of being screwed over by emperor's children and would feasibly start making countermeasures. Death guard similarly keep daemonic lore under very heavy lock-and-key after mortarion starts to study it; their nullificators could be guardians trained for containment.

It could even work for some of the more malicious or esoteric warbands of other traitor legions, that wish to hunt daemons for sport or study. I could easily see Night Lord or Emperor's Children Nulificators who are out looking for a good time messing with lesser daemons.

If I remember correctly the Night Lords were not big fans of the possessed marines, from the word bearers legion while the sons of Horus were all for it.

I could see a few hanging out in the night lords legions to keep them pure from deamon corruption

What's a Traitor Nullificator?

Nulificators are a unit that are basically proto grey knights they are in cataphractii armour and can take mauls and flamers. Theres no mini yet and ive found almost none online that people have made. The traitor part is id like to see peoples justification for taking an anti demon unit in a traitor force and any minis they have made.

Not mine, but a favourite from Facebook. Word Bearers themed.

I think the story behind them is that they are disciples of the Apostle who have made the ultimate sacrifice; cutting away their soul to provide a Daemon-proof escort when the rituals get going. Someone to pull the Apostles back to safety if the Daemons aren't playing along.

Modelling wise, I'd go full on "runes and wards". Think the stereotype of a sorceror in a summoning circle or daemonologist.

Now, my own interest is in what Alpha Legion nulifactors might look like, as they've always been the more "scientific"/sleekly efficient traitor legion. Necron-ish/ high tech looking bits and tools?

I think the Alpha Legion would probably have big issues with the nullificators in general. The lore surrounding the creation of nullificators is essentially Imperial Truth-believing Astartes going: "Well, there are a bunch of things which very much look like deamons and act like deamons and sound like deamons, so I guess they are deamons. Now what do the old superstitions say about how to handle supernatural threats like that?" and then through trial and horrifically bloody and murderous error figuring out which old superstitions had a kernel of truth in them and which did not. I can imagine some of the first nullificators going to battle wearing crosses, horseshoes, 4-leaf clovers and gloves of garlic while wielding silver bullets and wooden stakes and having all sorts of weird runes carved on their armor ranging from astrological signs to just greek alphabet. While Alpha Legion is scientific, I can't really see them going all scientific method on this, but rather they would just spy on other legions and their nullificator experiments and then copying the things that seem to work (no to horse shoes, crosses and garlic, but silver bullets seem to work etc.).
