Hammer&Maul Posted March 17, 2020 Share Posted March 17, 2020 (edited) Hello, This is my second post on B&C so bear with me. After much deliberation and debate I decided to get straight into 30K avoiding 40k. I was influenced by the Outer Circle videos and just the general setting. I went back and forth between the White Scars, Night Lords, and Dark Angels. I went with the Dark Angels mainly because of the newness of the models and book to come. I am starting with a tactical squad. Here are some test models. So I got the new transfer sheet but after doing a bunch of research i couldnt find what the Crusade Cross, the Keys, etc.. actually meant so i kinda just put them wherever. My hope is to try something new and paint the vehicles mainly with oils after watching the videos on zatcaskagoon miniatures. Hope you like it. First time on a forum. Anywho I just followed RobPaintsModels YouTube tutorial for deathwatch armor. Looks very good! How did you do the Battle damage? Looking forward for more :) So the black is a 50/50 mix of GW Kantor Blue and Abaddon Black. I just water it down make little nicks with fenrisian grey, and go above it with a true black. Just got a bunch of abtelung oil paints and am considering doing some rust and desert effects. Need to get a couple more models finished though. Back to the quarantine bunker. Hammer&Maul Posted March 23, 2020 Author Share Posted March 23, 2020 Hey Guys, Not sure if its lame posting micro progress but i finished two more marines and its good motivation for me to finish them knowing i can post pics. I am REALLY hoping when the new book drops it doesn't make my random assortment of transfers obsolete. Any way here are two more i finished today. So when i see other guys pics they are much bigger. Anyone know how to do that? I am waiting on a banner topper to come in from a dark angels 40 ravenwing banner to use as my vexilla. Hopefully it turns out. I did not anticipate becoming a home school teacher. Anyways I finished and based 6 guys. I also figured I'd through in a pic of the other bases I completed, and a pic of my sergeant and vexilla bearer. Anyways It definitely motivates me to paint knowing i can share it here.
