Ordo Sinister

Recommended Posts

Just had a look at the sprue and yes, the terminators come with a spare pair of shoulder pads. The guards don't, so one of my guys will be shoulderpad-less... if I ever get round to building them. To be honest the point I began cannibalising these guys for bits is kind of an acknowledgement that I'm unlikely to finish them. Got the sprues pretty cheap when the Heresy box set was out and they've been in a box since then.

Photobucket seems to be becoming more restrictive. I've switched to Flickr.

It it quick? I take pictures with my phone, airdrop them to my iPad, and upload them to the gallery using my iPad's new image reduction option.

I totally freaked out with the base. What do you guys think? Too much?

I'll be shaving the "wings" off the shoulders of mine, and 3D printing something very close to this as a replacement.

Will hollow some of the center, add some detail...

This looks brilliant! I had half a mind to do something similar but couldn’t for the life of me think how to achieve it! I think it makes absolute sense that this thing is so unnatural even the ground wants to get away from it. Amazing!

Concerning the base, if you can connect the rocks in such a way that they still give the impression of floating, I think it would end up better that the wires.

You could use ghosts trails from AOS or some of the endless spell packs to get the "whispy immaterium" effect you're looking for while still giving you something mechanically solid and aesthetically pleasing.

In my experience, wires are tough to hide, and the paint tends to flake off them over time since they flex slightly every time the miniature is moved.
