I hope some day that I can see some Night Lords done up in a theme with horror characters, Jigsaw, texas chainsaw massacre, jason, Michael, freddy, etc...I've even thought about the idea of night lords sending in hordes servitors draped in the flayed skin and clothes of the enemy and program them to dance, laugh, scream and cry as they March towards their still living friends

What kind of putty is blue? I like that helmet you did

It isn't putty, its plastic wings from a Grave Guard sanded and shaped, the blue is just paint so I can better see what needs to be sanded more or filled in.

EDIT: I have been meaning to get Green Stuff, the things I could do....but I just haven't, couldn't tell you why. I just keep looking for bits in bits boxes at shops or ebay lol

I mostly do the same. Cut and fitting when you're trying to keep symetry is much easier than sculpting for me.

My Lord, the model is the Artel W's Dread Lord, I added magnets for the hands/weapons.

Back view to also show the skin-cape. I've been going back and forth with the backpack. The default crucified skeleton is perfect, but should I replace that tiny winged skull on the top with something more grandiose?

Opinions!

Obviously got the traditional/post heresy gold trim, but not sure if I like it. I also did a nice gunmetal trim, like the pre-heresy scheme. At the moment I'm leaning towards the gunmetal look, I'd like to keep them darker overall with the bone and wings standing out more.

Nice Night Lords! Tricky question about the trims, when I started my army I painted them all gold but over time more and more of the heresy look began creeping into my paint scheme. Currently I paint them mostly metal and and the trims on the pauldrons copper with a lot of verdigris because that combination creates more interest and energy for the paint job overall.

Have you considered a very dark, dirty bronze for variation? Tarnish it a bit even, to make it clear it's old bronze and make it more unique?

I did try that, couldn't get one that I was happy with. Though I have been able to get a nice bronze in the past, but that was a different army.

The models are well-painted. How will you decorate their bases?

Still unsure, was contemplating an ashy look, almost like they're in the ashes of the fragments of Nostramo.

More likely, the ashes of a world the Night Lords razed to the ground, after massacring all inhabitants too weak to serve as slaves, and looting everything they can carry. (Nostramo was literally blown up, such that the asteroids it became would travel light years from the planet's original location.)

Good idea.
