Named Xenos Inquisitor at Last!

Recommended Posts

We're getting a new Inquisitor. The model is great; kinda glad she's a radical, but I also kinda want her to synergize with Death Watch. She'd have an easier time doing that if she was more conventional.

Anyway, just glad the Ordo is getting some attention- any news is good news, right?

Shame about the end of Blackstone- it was a great delivery system for Imperial Agents, and I had hoped they would use it to deliver more options for us before they wrapped it all up.

I honestly think Blackstone isnt the end of 40k WHQ. I'm sure we'll see a new setting for the system

Technically we already had a Xenos Inquisitor in Eisenhorn and Solomon Lok though Gregor never felt like a Xenos to me and Solomon Lok is forgeworld.

I do quite like this lady, particularly her power armor

Not sure what her rules will be.

But...

Looks like power armour, Shuriken catapult, powerfist.

Not sure what the mini dragon does but maybe a D6 12” flamer sort of thing.

Given this is pariah, maybe she’s an anti psyker?

100pts or so.

I thought Eisenhorn was Xenos, but like you said, he doesn't feel that way. Another radical from the Xenos though... Seems like we've got an Ordo in need of a purity check.

Hopefully this Inquisitor has rules that make her feel Xeno.

And a new setting for the Warhammer 40k Quest... Wow. Hadn't even though of that. The whole thing could be Commorragh, and it could be a support engine for DE development- I was SOOO disappointed they never made more of the stolen Eye of Vect storyline, but if it was just a thread to the next expansion, well played.

It could also stay in Imperial space and continue to feed us Agents and Admech. I'd be cool with that, but I think GW really needs to lavish some serious love and attention on their Xenos ranges. I'm glad many got a new model- only Nids and GSC went without. But that's not as much as the Xenos need and deserve. Getting the Warhammer Quest working for them would be an asset.

If she is friends with the aeldari then she is probably not a null - nulls are anathema to the aeldari.

Carrying a shuriken catapult around doesn't mean that one is friends with the asuryani though, so we're still in the realm of speculation.

Eisenhorn muddies the waters a bit as while he was a part of the Ordo Xenos, he dealt mostly with Chaos and Chaos-tainted Xenos.

Still, a new Inquisitor model is always welcome and this one feels fresh. I'm looking forward to seeing her background lore, rules, and to see whether or not this might herald GW giving the Inquisition a bit more of the attention they (in my opinion) deserve. :)

Yeah, that whole "summon a free daemonhost" thing felt weird on a Xeno.

And "fresh" is the perfect adjective for this mini- it's so different from everything that came before.

As for more Inquisition, I still contend that the Warhammer Quest system could be an amazing vehicle for Inquisition and Agents. I was disappointed to hear that BSF is ending, but someone in another thread mentioned that while BSF was wrapping up, this might be an opportunity for a new Warhammer Quest game set in 40k. I gotta tell ya, the possibilities are driving me crazy!

Inquisition could be it. So could Commorragh.

The next installment of Warhammer Quest based in the 40k universe has a lot of potential; I (quite selfishly) hope that we get a second 40k WHQ series before they move over to AoS for this very reason. :D

They definitely had more expansion and sales for BSF; plus they're grinding War Cry for the fantasy range, and fantasy WQ might cut into that range. Not only that, I seem to recall that there was overlap between Silver Tower and Shadows Over Harrenhall and BSF, so it isn't necessarily one or the other.

We can hope. So far, 8th has been really good to me.

Eisenhorn is Ordo Xenos because his mentor inducted him into it. Ordos are clubs/secret societies not juristictional branches. Minor ordos are formed when like minded Inquisitors make an alliance with an explicit goal in mind, they only draw their authority from the fact that they have the pooled resources of their members. The three main Ordo are just bigger and more permanent alliances with too broad a reach for any one of its members to be able to grasp the whole organisation.
