It's happening! 9th Edition with Necrons featuring as the big bads in the starter. The trailer is amazing even if it shows some 'crons getting wrecked and we have a couple pictures of new models. Here's the Warhammer Community article.

BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY I TOOK SCREENSHOTS LIKE CRAZY

Let's start easy with the Warriors.

The only things that are the same from the current range in that pic is the Doom Scythe, Cryptek with canoptek cloak, the Triarch Stalker, and the Triarch Praetorians. Certainly does look like a full on range refresh and I wouldn't be surprised if we see new Immortals given the rework of gauss flayers and the addition of the new weapon for Warriors (I missed the name) down the pipeline. It also stands to reason if there's one new Destroyer we'll likely see a single kit released with both options.

I can't wait for the new spider leg combat cron from the release trailer too, and have glorious hopes of Scarabs being in their own kit with the Warrior resculpt.

Gauss reaper is the new thing warriors come with. Looks to be some kind of carbine.

I don’t think we’ll get a refresh of immortals. They’re already modern enough. Leastways, I don’t particularly want new immortals. I’ll already be broke from the new warriors, Silent King, and starter kit!

 Same, DPL. I just see the overall aesthtic changing and could see them going somewhere down the pipeline as well.

The gauss reaper! Excellent. It was said to be a short range version on the flayer, which I imagine will get a revamped profile after a quip made by Eddie during the video; while discussing the disintegrated Guardsmen he sarcastically mentioned something along the lines of how S4 AP-1 totally represents that and also mentions that +1 from cover doesn't seem to help. It's nothing but a hope but I'll take it.

What I really hope for is new things added without existing things being taken away. Hard to know what will happen to the Deceiver and Nightbringer when that looks-a-lot-like-a-C'Tan model comes out.

So about 2 years ago I got frustrated with how Necrons played and stopped working on the army. With all the new stuff I’m glad I did.

I don’t think the aesthetic has changed to make immortals look out of place. The new Warrior weapons aren’t based on the immortal weapons.

And it looks like the rumor of getting rid of all the models with acrylic rods turned out to be true.

I expected a decent release, but this is slightly bigger than I expected. Called the units with rods being replaced tho. *swish*

Not to mention....thets a whole lotta Blackstone. The silent king is just surrounded by it. In addition to being in his staff. So maybe the anti-psychic rule for szeres was peanuts compared to what else we get. Also look at the new monolith, it appears to have huge slabs of Blackstone on the inside of it.

So the spider/crab models, we’re guessing they’re new destroyers yes? Because they look like a combination destroyer/flayed one (minus the flayed skin).

Heavy gauss cannon looking gun and hyperphase sword on one side, flayer claws on the other.

So...

Silent King.

New characters (the ones besides he Silent King seem to get minis both in the "throne" and by their own?).

New standard loadout for warriors (gauss reaper - carbine like, possibly more ROF/shorter range - maybe assault?).

New monoliths.

New 3 legged close combat elite/FA unit.

New 3 legged heavy walker (seems like gauss cannon and hyperphase sword armed at the very least).

New 4 legged heavier walker (seems like it has a doomsday cannon like gun on top).

New c'tan/pariah like "monster" (maybe flyes?).

BTW still no pic of pariahs who should be ot with Szeras.

And we're still not got into the rules.

A silent hurrah for all that.

P.S.: still curious because of the sister in the video getting that green glow on her arm...

EDIT: forgot about the obviously rebuilt warriors and heavy destroyer (dual kit?).

Well look at this here pic.

Colour me unsurprised at what sure looks like an Immortal in the bottom left corner

I am absolutely starting a new Necron army.

New everything lol. Warriors, scarabs, and that does look like an immortal.

The sword/cannon/claw is now looking like an HQ choice. New lord looking model on the far right. No idea what kind of cryptek looking character with the two servitor looking guys are.

My new question is what’s getting squatted lol.

I can't wait for the Codex, I don't have a cron army currently so any models that come out new will be a whole new army for me. I wonder what we'll get in the starter box. I am willing to trade away the marines or whatever we get. lol

I'm also definitely interested to see what kits will remain. If that is an Immortal, which means Deathmarks as well, that really only leaves Flayed Ones (heavily rumoured to be included), Wraiths, Tomb Blades, Spyders, the Barges and Arks, Vault/Obelisk/T-C'Tan, and characters. As for the C'Tan it's pretty easy for that big winged kit to be variable like what we see with AoS monsters and there's our new plastic C'Tan options covered. We are very close to a whole range refresh with this release.

I'm curious if those new spider-legged combat looking crons will be classed as a type of Destroyer, and if that big guy at the top of the (presumaby anyway) starter set pic is the new Destroyer Lord. There would still be repulsor based Destroyers as we've seen in the blurry pic.

I'm also very curious if those models that are presumably characters around the walker are named or generic. The one far right has what could be a/the gauntlet of fire or maybe it's a new Anrakyr and that's the tachyon arrow. The one in the centre with the assistants/guardians could be a stylized Cryptek or a new HQ/Elite character, and if the bottom left model isn't an Immortal it could be a low-tier leader-cron Elite character (I think I would prefer this to an Immortal resculpt, at least for now).

You know, I may just sell all my unpainted currentCron stuff to help fund some newCron stuff. I definitely want...like...all of it...and my almost 6k points can take a little hit in the Troops and extra vehicle section.

That single Immortal, it's got to be a elite/sub HQ. The Marines get 5 characters. I doubt they'd show only one of a squad that's only a troops choice. I reckon he's an Immortal's officer -Maybe "My will be done" will be expanded to be like IG orders with various forms from differing HQ's.

Warriors going down to 10 base - Mixed weapons from the looks of it. Scarab swarms still around, probably separate?

There is another 4/5 swarms on the Marines side of the image.

Destroyers being made like Oblits/Mutilators with dakka and melee variants in a duel kit?

D-Lord with little drone infront, new Canoptek?

That central lad with his two little followers looks amazing, maybe a chaplain type buffing character/alternate Cyptek/Lord?

Love the War of the Worlds walker.

This is like xmas.... I am in love with these new models 10000%.

Did you notice that the MONOLITH in the larger grainy picture is a new model??
They replaced the Glow Plastic Crystal with an orb, and its a little shorter?

I'm confused about the spider things having 3 arms, but hey, they are pretty darn cool looking, the new sculpts all are.

Perhaps Warriors will have the option of including an Immortal in the squads like a squad leader. Dunno.

I am not sure I'll phase out any of my old models, but I'm for sure buying the new ones.  Worst case scenario, I might make my old Monolith into terrain (might pick up another for that purpose anyway though).

I'm also in the camp that the "immortal" must be a character that just has a Gauss Blaster.

The absence of Flayed Ones is a bit concerning, but unless they squat the unit (which seems unlikely after writing a short story about them to promote PA) I can't see them adding so many new units and not replacing the one thing that most desperately needs replaced.  Then again, not everything Chaos had in finecast got replaced, so I could be wrong.  Flayed Ones are the only unit I don't have any of so I'm really itching to see some new plastics, especially with the horror themes (which they nailed on the rest here).

At first take, I was a little undecided on the wear and tear visible on the Warriors.  But after considering it, I am very much a fan.  I think it hits the horror vibe just right.  Close to perfection.

My Dynasty fluff was that the Phaeron despises Warriors for not "doing their part" before biotransference, so I've been putting bullet holes and battle damage on mine with a hobby drill and knife, so I am very glad to see I won't have to do that anymore!
