Gate of Infinity with Dynamic Insertion - Valid? Yes or No

On the matter of dynamic insertion can someone explain the benefits of using it over a normal deep strike.

contesting an objective mainly. Or getting right in front of a troublesome unit or character that the enemy thought was screened by keeping units 9" away from each other

Or a cheeky cheap single character to squeeze right in front of another character and cast inner fire

See, I thought those things to start with but Dynamic Insertion

1. drops you > 3" so unless your opponents troops are not ON the objective you will struggle to contest it.

2. Inner fire has a 1" range so you can't cast it.

Even a Purifier squad is outside of Purifying Flame range unless you spend a 2nd CP to drop a Brother Captain with them.

The only thing I thought off was dropping between screens and characters and then your 5 man squad will be able to get off 40 storm bolter shots or creating a screen to protect your characters.

1. Sometimes your opponent not in range of the objective, but stil denies you grabbing in from DS. For example, they sent a guardsment squad to take an objective, and they are like 5" from the center. You can drop a squad in 3" and grab it.

2. With powerful adept the range is increased to 7". Used it several times, worked quite well.

So Castellan Crowe with Dynamic Insertion and Powerful Adept could do d6 smite ,throw on Empyric Surge for another +1 to cast.and Inner Fire becomes cast on 2d6+2.

Nope, he can't Dynamic Insertion because he cannot teleport.

Damn you're right, just like Purifiers can't. Two units that could make real good use of the strat.

So seeing as Inner Fire is a Dominus discipline power only unnamed Characters can know it, does limit our choices (or have they FAQ'ed that)

How? Any character can have dominus powers. There's no limitations.

Because I'm a numbnut and misread the set warlord traits for Draigo, Voldus etal as psychic powers. I need more coffee :wallbash:

Everyone makes mistakes, brother. I make a lot of those, but what's the most important thing is, you are learning :)
