Innovative LEDs?

So I have been looking for interesting LEDs given the coming Necrons besides the basic single colors we are used to.  I am thinking like whatever this kit uses for the eye which looks great: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RVcs3gVHLoA&list=PLBUH2zvo-Lh1ruvJekZGNz-YF-A0L7Oz8&index=29&t=0s

Anyone have any ideas?

The LED's dont come with the kit - if you watch the video you link you'll see that it's a very extensive custom job on the lighting. The eye lights are actually a coloured LED ringed with a dozen or more fibre optic cables which he manually glued in place.

I know this thread is a bit old, but LEDs do come up from time-to-time, so I figured I'd add some info that's come out more recently.

Not sure if you're trying to do infantry or larger models. It won't work well with basic necron infantry (warriors and the like) but would be doable with larger monsterous creatures. Typically LEDs are better suited for terrain, so you could do necron themed terrain using low power UV LEDs and glow-in-the-dark or UV reactive green paint. Vitamin D also glows under UV, so crushing it up and adding it to clear plastic tubes will create an eerie orange glow.

For tutorials - search youtube for LED terrain. Here are some vids to get you started:

Intro to the electronics (EXTREMELY important, you need to understand and add resistors to prevent LED burnout) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9yo7FisdwwU

The terrain building process (Cyber Punk themed, but translates nicely to Necron/Necromunda) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gy-bKtDJZ7M

This is a great example of LED vs OSL (painted) effects on miniatures - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=994YPURjI4g

Hopefully that helps someone. LEDs can add a lot of cool immersion to a table, but they're a lot of work and require a bit of knowledge to make sure all that work doesn't go to waste on a burned out LED.
