Recent Deathwatch/Tyranids session

Took some photos of this session I did via video w/some friends recently. They each took a trio of Deathwatch operatives and had to make a last stand to hold off the bugs until the Corvus could complete an extraction of key figures from the moon Tantalus.

Black Shield Herec's zealotry allowed him to survive coming to blows with a Broodlord, and with but a single wound left, lay the beast low with his blessed shotgun. 

 

Brother Gaius of the White Consuls survived combat with 3 Tyranid Warriors, his power maul doming two of them outright.

 

Brother Pyriel of the Salamanders cleared entire nests of genestealers as they emerged, saving the squad from near death on three ocassions. 

 

Brothere Janus of the Crimson Fists protected the squad's flank successfully, his infernus bolter laying devastating overwatch fire on any xenos that approached. 

 

Brother Halbrecht of the Imperial Fists hunted big game with his frag cannon, taking down 3 Tyranid Warriors as they furiously advanced. 

 

Brother Matteus of the Silver Skulls provided ample command support and made short work of several warriors with his xenophase blade. 

 

Squad Nihilus lost 5 of 6 operatives in order to guarantee the extraction operation’s success, with only a severely wounded Brother Pyriel surviving due to his Terminator Armor’s teleportation beacon being within recovery range of Squad Nihilus’s Corvus Blackstar transport. Through Squad Nihilus’s sacrifice, the Achilles Crusade will continue on for the glory of the Imperium.
