Titans?

I've seen a lot of Imperial Titan / walkers / Knights and so on. I know the Eldar have some of these as well (although the range seems more limited) But can you play an army of them like the imperials can? If so where are the rules?

The Codex has the base Knight in it along with its possible loadouts.  Forgeworld has another.

FW also has, or at least once had, two Eldar Titan Variants, the Revenant and Phantom, respectfully.

Sadly, all of the above (Except maybe the Phantom, I've never had one of those) are... awful in 8th.  To put it mildly.  The Revenant Titan is barely any better than a Knight Porphyrion - and over 800 more points too (Fully 2000!).  It doesn't even have an Invul Save unless it moves.  And even then it's not a good one.  the Knights completely lack Invuls whatsoever unless they give up a weapon, and are badly overcosted.

They lack the variety of options Imperial Knights have too*.  So I can't say I'd suggest it.  But it would be doable, I guess.  They'll still work better in a more mixed list, since then things like Psychic power buffs and the likes will make them more potent.

The other big strength is they will benefit from Craftworld Traits.  So there's some things to do with that, either the Alaitoc -1 to hit, or the Ulthwé 6+ FNP are the ones best suited to them, IMHO.

*Essentially three options - Twin Hard Hitting guns, single meh gun and shield, or melee weapon and shield.  Revenant Titans have two possible options, a double hard hitting gun, and a weird ignores cover sort of thing.  Possibly LOS too, I forget.

If Eldar knights are part of a superheavy detachment, they won't get craftworld traits per rules of that detachment.

Are you sure? I know the auxiliary Superheavy loses army rules, but not the Full detachment. Otherwise Imperial knights wouldn’t be able to use household rules

I must be mistaken. I am quoting from this page on Goonhammer that reads,

Super-Heavy Auxiliary and Auxiliary Support

Both of these just give you a slot for points, and don’t get detachment abilities as outlined above.
