I haven't seen it posted in the forum anywhere else, although some people seem to know of the company already, so I decided to setup a thread, since the range of miniatures from Wargames Atlantic seems to be expanding quite fast.

Here is their shop:

https://wargamesatlantic.com/

They have a mix of historical, fantasy and Sci-Fi ranges, which for the most part seem to be roughly compatible, as I have seen conversions using a mix of historical figures with Sci-Fi ones, for example.

It is all hard plastic, the sprues have lots of spare parts and the kits are quite cheap, especially if bought in the multi-box deals they provide.

They currently ship from the UK, the US and Australia (company is based in the US and production is done in China). Retailers that stock them are still quite few, but the number is increasing regularly and at least in Europe they ship rather fast, if you buy directly from their shop.

Their sci-fi range is called Death Fields and could prove of interest to AM/IG, GSC and potentially Mechanicus, depending on what they add next. Nothing for aliens or SM at the moment, but there are plenty of alternatives for those anyway.

Examples of their kits:

https://wargamesatla...=20081465983074

Raumjager_Box_Cover_Wargames_Atlantic_-_

https://wargamesatla...=31187238944866

Les_Grognards_Box_Cover_web_1800x1800.jp

They seem very active on their social media pages and regularly gather feedback and show what is coming next, for example dwarvish guards:

Einherjar Dwarves 1
Einherjar Dwarves 2
Einherjar Dwarves 3
Einherjar Dwarves 4

And fantasy/Sci-Fi spiders:

Sci-fi-Spider-1_large.jpg?v=1593143636

Both the spiders and the dwarves should be released sometime in August.

It's worth keeping in mind that the company is currently outsourcing production to China, with plans to switch to the true home of miniature wargaming production (UK) sometime in 2021. There are noticeable issues in so far as the sprues are concerned at present (bizarre, filmly release agent) - so it may be beneficial to hold off for now.

That said, the more people here actively taking part in the Facebook polls and encouring cross-compatibility with the Imperial Guard range, the better. There's an undercurrent of grumpy old men that are dead set on preventing that.

Really these miniatures are designed by Bob Naismith that was one of the first miniature designers at Citadel?

He seems to work as a freelancer now, they are using freelancers for most of their artistic stuff (boxes and models alike).

Practically all of the olden days sculptors work as freelancers now, outside of a handful such as the Perry's - Bob did work for my previous employer fairly frequently, just traditionally sculpted as opposed to CAD. Peter Dennis, the box artist, has long done freelance work for various companies; Gripping Beast, Osprey Publishing and so forth.

At this moment in time it's still the norm to outsource design - trusting the sculptors to actually produce what's on the specification is another issue entirely, though.

I love the miniatures he sculpted in those early years of GW and i like the look of the non-Steel Legion he sculpted for Wargames Atlantic

I've bout 4 or 5 boxes already and have really enjoyed them.

Honestly for the price these models sold them selves

I am waiting for 3 more boxes of infantry to arrive, had a mailing mishap locally so they are a day or two behind the initial arrival time. Probably a postal clerk running on too little sleep for all I know.

Between the two kits posted above I prefer the Grognards over the Ramjagers. The first being extremely easy to build and swap parts with. The second, to me, were more difficult to work with die the the gear at the belt line. If your just building them with out twisting the upper body you'll be fine.
The Grognards have a massive amount of heads in the box either 4 or 5 options and enough for all 24 mini's in the box.
These are hard plastic but seem solidly built to me and not flimsy at all.

If your not sure about either of these kits but are interested just keep an eye out for their new models.
The Grognards are for sure getting a second box for heavy weapons teams in the not too distant future.

There are a few things I wanted these kits don't provide but I have managed to kit bash within the kits to create those options. Mostly I have wanted different arm positions for the sward or pistol arms but hope we get more sword and pistol options, like left handed options for more variety.

Wargames Atlantic has a face Book page and group.

They are very engaged there.

Hope this was helpful.

I am very impressed with this company.

I have read they are planning a factory in the US. unless I misread but yes they have announced plans to move production out of China.

For reference, the grognards have a total of 192 heads per box, 24 unique ones, 3 of each type (the same amount of bodies in the sprue), matching different types of head dressing for french troops, with or without gas masks.

The new kit for heavy weapons for grognards seems to also bring officer options like power fists and such, as well as medic and vox caster options (full options have not been revealed yet).

My order of WW1 Germans just arrived.
Early thoughts.

These are more of a true 28MM scale miniature. not as large as the GW Imperial Guards Cadians, which may be a turn off for some people.
I believe they are slightly smaller than the Grognards miniatures.
I set one of them nest to a Bolt Action Early war French Mortar crew and they are roughly the same size, if that helps nail it down.
Could be an issue when trying to kit bash over with GW bitz, special weapons, stuff like that.
If some one wanted 30 to 90 conscripts I think these would easily do the job with the options in the box. Anything more will take a bit of work.
6 bodies on a frame 1 of which is kneeling.
These boxes are bitz farm for sure.
120 heads in one box. 30 stick bombs. 33 entrenching tools.

I'll be seting parts aside for a future project.
WA has said they plan to release WW1 French. - I smell some cool 3rd party nearly DKoK proxy mini's.

I'll update this with a picture of an assembled mini in a few days.

I know smaller "true" 28MM minis may be a turn off for some people but I like them because they make Space Marines look more size appropriate. I have thought for a long time that the plastic Cadians are just too large, when standing next to a SM. Primaris look huge

This box of 30 models cost under 35 usd.

Hope this was helpful for anyone considering these.

Einherjar (space dwarves) and Giant/small spiders (fantasy/scifi kit) are now available for pre-order with a release for late August or September.

When both kits get released I was thinking about making some dwarvish spider riders, lets see how that goes.

Wargames Atlantic have a current offer for free kits, if you suggest them a local store and the stores ends up stocking their products.

Here is the contact form for that, in case you are interested:
https://wargamesatla...ocal-game-store

They have also been offering kits for a lucky person among those that answer their regular polls on their webpage (before they were being done through their facebook).

Do the WW1 heads fit Cadians well? My Guard army is a mix of Krieg and Cadians, and the cadian heads looked too big and kinda comical next to the Krieg so I replaced them with bolt action German heads so the size and helmet aesthetic is similar, and I have had my eye on the WW1 german gas mask heads for a while now. Think its worth getting a box? I get all the heads Ill ever need and as a bonus I get 30 WW1 minis for when I start historical games.

From the scale shot the german heads seem to be slightly smaller than a cadian one would be.
The cadian body on the left is with 3rd party head, but should give a sense of scale.

I will likely get some germans when the spiders and dwarves are out, I could perhaps check the size then, as I have cadian bodies around, but you would have to wait till early September likely.

I don't own any plastic Cadians so I can't test fit for you. I will say that I believe the Pickelhaube heads may be too small to look correct on beefy Cadians however, the other more modern style helmets may well fit, same helmet but 1 had a gasmask.  If you go to the Wargames Atlantic FB group and ask, some one there may have done it already. Very possible.
I'm sorry I can't be more help than that.
Oh, failing your request some one has put those heads on the Grognards infantry mini's. And those are easily as large as a Cadian. They are a heroic scale and larger than the WW1 Germans.
Best of luck!

Decided to pull the trigger on purchasing them anyway, the gasmask heads seem to be the same size as bolt action heads and I dug out my old Warhammer Ancients Great War book so either way I get new toys to play with if the heads dont fit :D

The Grognards kit does look a lot more appealing with different heads and weapons, think they may be a future purchase as well, even if they dont make it into my Guard army at least Ill have another 'guard' army for other people to use.

Just scored a sprue of Great War Germans and a sprue of Grognards off of ebay, much cheaper than wasting 50+ quid on an idea. Cant wait for them to turn up so I can play about with bits.

Wargames Atlantic is previewing Grognards Heavy Weapon teams, which seem to be coming out near the end of Summer.

Render_-_tri-barrel_team_1000x512_crop_c

They have more details on their blog post ( https://wargamesatla...-now-in-tooling ) including low resolution 3d prints for test fit.

From what has been revealed so far, the sprues will contain the Heavy Weapons, parts for Officers, Vox Casters and so on, including female heads, all of it compatible with the Grognards existing kit.

The Mortar does look nice, the gun crew will come in very handy as well, might make a sniper out of the kneeling chap.

The Grognards sprue turned up yesterday, Bolt Action heads fit nicely on them, cant comment on the WW1 Germans as my sprue has not showed up yet.

A full Grognard box is in my near immediate future, might pop on some Soviet heads and make proxy Valhallans, one man carries a rifle, his mate carries the ammo :)

Late German sprue has landed, first thoughts were they look a bit small, compared them to the Grognards and they are the same size, I think they looked small because I have been staring at greatcoat guard the past few weeks and the lack of a coat made the legs look tiny... They look a bit thinner than Cadians in the shoulder area, but as conscripts I think these would be great. Gona have a play about with bits now and Ill get a picture next to the Grognards, a Cadian and a Krieg Guardsmen for scale.

Second thoughts... Wow thats a lot of Stielhandgranate, ten singles, two being thrown and one with six explosives strapped together at the end...
