Questions on Lootas!

So I have a question. 

 

I want to build some Lootas for my Ork collection, but I kinda loath the current models, I also hate the fact they look just like Ork heavy weapons. 

To me a Loota should be... well Looting stuff, and carrying weaponry that looks looted at the core. 

So what would folk suggest for a base for making alternate Deathguns from?  

 

Now also my small wrinkly in this is that I dont want to use any Space Marine kit. Due to the idea that: 

- Space Marines are kinda 'rare' in the 40k universe 

- If there was some orks carrying a pile of stolen Space Marine Relics (which is all their kit TBH) they would be hunted down and destroyed.

Well my personal take to orks is that every gun should look more or less unique, or at least different than other guys in the unit. So I would look ways to customise every single boy in Lootas unit, but do try to keep some coherency within the unit so they look like one.

 

Take other ork guns, cut them into pieces and compile them into a massive LMG? Make one long barrel, or two? Hell go for a minigun with four, all barrels alternating in length and amount of damage. Possibilities are endless. I personally also use some little plastic tubes that I get from insuline needles (they are secondary covers of the needle). One photo of my ork boyz:
