Heya, Another question... A mate is getting the killteam box with the servo hauler in it and is giving me the orks from it :-) , now they can either be loota’s or Burna boyz ... which is the more usable option in 9th Ed or what are people’s opinions on these units ?!...

All answers appreciated,

Cheers , Mithril

I'm not the most comp player but from what I have seen people are saying the loota bomb is dead. However I still think they have a place with the klever spanner upgrade. For me 12 burns in a truck has always done work, even if it not the most deadly there is a psychological factor in 12 d3 autohits coming in that are pseudo power weapons. I use them in a semi kamaikaze/distracafex. Not played 9th yet but seems like could work still, deathskull burnas for obj sec afaik, send in as objective clearer Edited by Brother Sergeant Tiberius

I'm of the opinion Lootas are simply too costly in 9th, competitively. The short version is that they need grots to shield them but grots went up a bunch of points, and they basically need to be Bad Moons and have 2CP a turn invested into them so they can shoot trice and justify their cost.

Burna Boyz, however, have also never been very good. But, gun to my head, in a friendly, not competitive game, I would take some Burna Boyz and stuff them in a trukk over Lootas.

Thanks for the feedback guys, I like the look of burnas anyway so I think I’ll go that route for now and get a trukk for them down the road (pun intended) It’s for funsies and not a tournament list so I’m happy to have a unit in there that may cause a rushed decision due to their perceived threat level,

Again guys thanks for all the feedback I get to help me build my army!.

Flame Trukk life. If its not for comp, 6 burnas, 5 nobs with kombi skorchas+a character. Flaming trukk of death.

Either wierdboy for fists of gork on himself or warpath on the nobz after doing some bbq, or a Warboss with Headwoppas and Kombi skorcha and Leroy Jenkins it. Yeah they will die but the chaos will be amazing and people will panic

Just to say, if you have some spare ork boyz then you can build both lootas and burnas. You may need to be a bit selective with the bodies (file down any spikes etc at the top that may get in the way) and the legs (more on the lootas so arms dont hit legs)

I can't believe I forgot to mention this. It's like the easiest piece of advice for Orks in the world! Yes, as the good Frater here stated, make sure to use Boyz to build both units.

I've been considering making some burnas as well (I've only made one for my killteam), though my lootas are still unfinished too. My extra boyz so far have been mostly used for converting into tankbustas and such. Not that I even have extras exactly, just unfinished ones. I do wish they'd boost the burnas a bit though in the next codex, though lootas also need some help now with the CA changes. Bleh. Which makes getting them built even more of a chore. On the "upside" at least I guess I won't need more than 10 now, with 11+ being suicidal. In that sense I guess I could just build the last boxes directly into burnas. A burna-trukk to go with the busta-trukk would be kinda nice. Though i'd need to build the second trukk for that, too...
