Why waste so many CP on a second Detachment?

Wouldn it be better to put it together in a Brigade?

Not enough HQs and I don't want to pay for fast attacks. The Hellhound is the only viable fast attack option and that would cut into how many troops or tank commanders I could take. Also, Creed pays for 2 of the 3 CP I need to spend on the second battalion. I do agree that it isn't ideal to give up CP to build the list I want, but GW decided that Guard needed nerfs. Yeah i am no big fan of this new very restrict Armybuling either...

For Fast Attack

Maybe Sentinals

They are still only 35p each with ML

yeah its 105pts for minimum FA slot to be filled v 3 CP. Thats the trade off.

List looks good and 3 Tank Commanders and 3 Basilisks powerful core. Both of those are best value Tank and Artillery respectively I feel (Russ and Wyvern pts upgrades were harsh)

Considered Tallarn? dropping Creed and some grenade launchers would pretty much get you the 105pts for FA.

In terms of tweaks to consider - dropping grenade launchers gets you pts to upgrade the infantry lascannon squad to veterans for the BS3+ on it?

And great job on getting a 9th edition list out there!

Yeah the grenade launchers going up hurts. I actually prefer cadian doctrine and Creed is pretty much an auto-include now that CP is scarce. He's actually a great value now. He's got as many orders as a CC and PC combined and costs exactly as much as those two. He also gives 2 CP. Going veterans for the lascannon might work. Remember though that rerolling Cadians do as well as veterans from any other regiment.

I agree Creed is a very good idea. He fits well with going with the mortar teams as your heavy choices.

I hear rumblings that manticores are better than basilisks with specialist detachments being eliminated from the grand tournament package. I don't know really, I think the basilisks are still pointed well.

I'm thinking the three astropaths will be good for getting secondary objectives - psychic ritual?

Manticores are very strong now, but the basilisk is still cheaper. I personally prefer the aesthetics of basilisks over manticores, but the loss of vigilus does hurt.
