Templar-izing my Outriders
I already have a pretty large bike force for my Black Templars so I've been waiting excitedly for the Outriders. I added some of my existing bike conversion parts to the mix along with the heavy guardbrace on the shoulder pads.

For the exhausts, I removed the thinner segment of the exhaust pipe filed it smooth then attached my resin upgrades rather than just drilling out the tube. Because they are so small they can be a bit fiddly but IMO it's worth the effort. It helps to add them before attaching the side pieces to the bikes, while you can still do it at any point it's just easier while it's still separate.

I use a jewelry saw to remove the tube tips on the exhaust since it makes a nice clean & controlled cut, then filed everything smooth before attaching the resin tips. I use the tip of my hobby knife or a sewing needle carefully touched between the vents and help pick it up so I can eyeball that everything is straight before pressing it in place.

The guardbrace was heated in very hot water for about 15 seconds then bent around the shoulder pad. (Hot enough to make tea) If you mess up they can be reheated and they'll flatten back out. Just make sure they aren't too cold when you go to bend them or they could crack. If's it's heated correctly it'll be very pliable.

I used one of the Templar vehicle crosses on the hood and the shrine on the rear is a press molded copy of the top of the buttress piece from the Imperial Sector city fight terrain.

So here's more of the Indomitus stuff with the heavy guardbraces.

There's a couple really simple tricks that help when working with them. Do all your cleaning on the part first. Have a coffee mug of really hot water like you're making tea and a toothbrush. You can stick the guardbrace in the bristles of the tooth brush then submerge it in the water. That way you're not scalding your finger tips trying to hold it with tweezers or dropping it and having to fish it out. (Make sure to reheat the water periodically to keep it hot if you're doing multiple sets).

Leave it in 15-20 seconds and it should be really pliable take it out and quickly bend it around the handle of your exacto knife. They're almost the perfect size and curvature to match the shoulder pads. Let it sit and cool so it holds it shape then you can glue it on, once it has the curve set in place the resin has enough spring and bend to it that you should be able to fit it snugly against the shoulder pad without too much of a gap.

I had already pre-assembled most of the models so I had to pop the backpacks off a couple to get the pads on, fortunately I use super glue for everything and not plastic cement. Later when I have more time I'll be grinding down the right shoulder pads on the HQ models to give them each a second pad and the standard bearer will have the bionic hand bit replaced with  a more Templar-ish holy orb hanging from his chain or possibly a censer.

I have a bit of a fetish for Chaplain models and it's by far my favorite model in the box. I have a second copy coming from ebay so I decided to modify this one and give him a skully head which I'd recast. I also can't wait for the upcoming bike Chaplain.

The sergeants in each squad are going to get SB pads to denote their veteran status. IMO the pads help them look big and chonky and helps them stand out vs the other marines in their squad.

Thank you once again for the quick pack and ship, always outstanding quality! I've got 3x Outriders and 6x Bikes on deck for the painting bench after I finally finish my Angry Marines.

"My blood is the same colour as yours. And what I do, I do to protect Earth, same as you. You don't like how I do it, that's your prerogative. But there are things going on out there that you know nothing about. Threats to the human race that no one never hears about, because we stopped them. There are dangers all around us. And whether you like us or not, we may be all that stands between you and the abyss."

Excellent work, brother! Where did you source the chaplain skull helm? I'm trying to scratch build one, but I feel I could find a better looking option.
