Things are Looking Up...

Recommended Posts

Hello.

So, ALL Astartes with Chainswords will now get Astartes Chainswords.

http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/365869-2w-veterans/?p=5583241

At least Veteran status Astartes are going to be 2 Wounds per model.

WG, and WGPL, I'm looking at you.

WG TDA are 3 Wounds.

If GH's and BC's go to 2 Wounds per model, then BC's if they stay competitively priced points wise should see LOADS of battlefield units.

LRC BC Deathstar or SWolf BC pack for Harassing far afield, either with maybe WP And WGPL as of old, .... Hoo boy!

I'm loving how this is looking for the SW's on the table.

Certainly a good day to play Wolves.

ObSec on all Infantry was too good to be true; still, it's a good thing they caught it when they did.

So, anyone want to start the hyperbole on the 1W or 2W NorMarines yet?

Oh wait, I think I just did...:wink::teehee:

Bladeguard are at 3 and veterans are at 2, so i think the extra PA wound wound is only a veteran thing.

veterans are fine at 2, though. 2 wound power armour wolf guard sounds fun too me.

i honestly hope mini marines stay at 1 wound.

Yeah, wiping out the Primaris advantage of having the second Wound, and giving it to basic Firstborn troops would be a really weird move.

I’d expect the new pattern to be:

Firstborn Marine 1W. Primaris Marine 2W

Firstborn Veteran 2W. Primaris Veteran 3W

Firstborn Veteran in TDA 3W. Primaris Marine in Gravis 3W

From that point you go into the various Character options, where the Primaris version would have 1 more Wound than the Firstborn version, and with TDA granting an extra Wound for Firstborn characters, and Gravis granting an extra Wound for Primaris.

This sounds pretty reasonable. Lets folks who are set on rolling older marine models have a bit of a buff  without stepping on the Primaris advantages.

Okay, this is all happy-making, for sure, I’ll be surprised to see non-vet firstborn units get another wound, but I do like the idea of veterans getting one, and 3W TDA reflects what terminators are supposed to be in the lore. I *really* like everybody getting Astartes chainswords- that -1 to saves makes a big difference.

if TWC are vets, extra wound too?

they might keep TWC them the same wound count

I hope not as characters get the 2 wound bump from the mount too so extra wound would make sense

As an elite I hope Wulfen get it too

Someone in news thread is saying they have it from a good source that minimarine troops staying 1w

Primaris troops looking like the way to go but O.G Elites could be stellar in 9th

If our GH/BC gets two wounds there is no need to take Assault Intercessors, they will have far superior equipment with special weapons and power weapons. If they get -1 chainswords, as it looks, according to the leak, I will take them any day over Primaris. That is if they don't get transformed into standard tac-marines. Blood claws will also be crazy good with 2 wounds and -1 chainswords. The synergy with 2 wounds and -1ap chainswords is really too good for Space wolves.

Let us not forget Sky claws who will also be crazy good with their increased survivability if they get 2 wounds and the better chainswords

But then again we don't know how SW will look in the future. Will we have GH and BC or will they be ordinary tac-marines? Will we have to pay for chainswords? Will we loose the WG option?

If only WG gets an extra wound, the ss will be better again.

Just my rambling thoughts

That’s true atm danjou but I’d be shocked if assault intercesssors didn’t get some sort of trick/rule in the codex. It’s been pointed out a bunch in the astartes forum but the assault versions don’t have a ton going for them over reivers or OG intercessors. They’re surely better for us than most but I’m pulling for some sort of buff.

:censored: ...why wont regular marines go away already. The primaris will never get all the cool stuff until they're gone

This game was built on the Firstborn, and while I expect the Primaris to become the mainline models, I don’t and hope they’ll never go away.
