Infantry list

I've been working on a list for a foot guard cadian army and I think that this may work. Please let me know what you guys think.

 

Note: For some reason brute shields haven't been updated points wise in battlescribe yet, so this is 1997 points.

Looks fun - I love footguard!

 

Comments:

Completely behind principal of damage dealer (Heavy Weapon) in each squad - but that makes list look very static, and the benefit of infantry is mobility.

 

Creeds +3 orders (potentially +6 with WL trait....) is really useful.

 

Special weapons wise seems a bit of a random spread (guessing its models available) - but if not (bs4) plasma and melta are brilliantly costed and worth taking wherever you can.

 

To consider...

If you do move any model, heavy weapon is -1 to hit - so why not drop the HWT in each squad and go for example for melta.

 

Advance and shoot (assault) is same -1. Melta has effective range of 19" (12" range +6" move + minimum advance roll of 1"). Stat wise (when in range) it is comparable to Lascannon/missile launcher. Its also 10pts cheaper.

 

taking idea a step on... why not go Tallarn for second detachment (drop that -1 on move for assault) - (the different regiments can be a pain orders wise), gives you a firebase and a mobile element.

 

My 'go to' mobile infantry squad is 60pts (plasma/melta 5pts + sgt plasma pistol 5pts). That gives me 3 plasma shots under 12".

 

Dropping Vox and shifting half the infantry squads to melta as noted above gives you about 140pts to play with.... you could get 3x special weapon teams (9plasma or melta...) as a reserves option for 1CP to drop in turn 2.
