Wow it's a great looking "Toy" ... but 180 pounds.... that's like my half yearly budget for all warhammer spendings ermm.gif def not spending it on a dust magnet sweat.gif

Very nice looking figure though* ( I got to say that so joe doesn't think I'm being completely super negative tongue.png).

I must say you'd think The Guard would put iron sights on the pistol as well though... just in case the red dot goes faulty...

I just noticed, even at 1/6, the laspistol has no sights! 😂

It's right there, mate:

Oh! No :cuss? I never knew that was an optic. Thank you! Wow. 25+ years in and you learn something new.
Wait. Optic or sighting laser? Thoughts?

Based on this, I'd go with as it says: integrated optics.

After looking at it a bit more, aside from the wrong hat, the total lack of equipment besides a canteen and knife has me really worried the new guard range will be similarly bare and not incorporate the FW respirator kits and assault packs.

I would be willing to bet additional equipment will be available as a mix of stretch goals and optional extras during the Kickstarter.

They will just be showing the bare bones version here so they don't get criticized for loading the preview up with stuff you don't get in the base pledge.

funny how people think laser pistols need sights considering their short range and visible laser itself.

Anyways, i hope they do karskins too

Not sure about some of the stich counter comments about hats. It's not a historical subject with well defined uniform patterns and regulations for reanactors to debate about ;) all we have is one portrait in a codex and a few minis with different styles. No doubt there are variations in cadian issue and uniform over 1000s of years. By all means pass it onto the company if you think the hat should be different, they seem receptive on Facebook.

BTW it's worth browsing their page if you want more info, they made some pretty solid comments about future space marine plans (40cm!)

It’s less stitch counting and more about aesthetics which is why people were saying what they prefer. It’s pure preference.

Your opinion is important, and someone posting here probably does care what you think. You should go tell them. Remember that it really hurts to come up with an idea you care about and have no one else care. Go care about something and tell them what you think. Now. Think of what it would have meant to you when you were young.

I expect he'll come with far more equipment than he's been photographed with, or as others have pointed out, it'll be a stretch goal. He's alright so far for a line officer - but he's certainly in need of some more garnish if we want him to look right at home on the front. A few extra pouches round the waist, a bedroll and all that.

Honestly, the most satisfying thing of this whole process has been seeing where the creator has fit the clasps - it's roughly in line with what some cosplayers have suggested in the past.

If we are going to get into stitch counting, the picture of the armor is a great example. There’s no internal padding on the shoulder sections that ride the collar bones (not to mention the back and chest), the hanging plate that Is presumably to allow you to move more naturally is wayyy too short and there’s nothing keeping it tight across tHe body which means it’s going to bounce when you run.

Might be a bit rich coming from a warhammer fan, but I don't see why an adult would want this. The price range seems way to steep for a child's toy.

Price isn't unusual at all. Action figures/dolls of that fidelity sell for quite a lot with similar Star Wars figures being well over 100 USD in market value. Honestly the price tag is actually justified so long as the quality of the figure is comparable to others of its ilk... unlike the Primaris Bandai Figures and McFarlane range. Would be nice if the company ever works on Marines or makes Vostroyan guys, although granted I'm not one for buying nick knacks.

This is v true. I have recently spent ages comparing every design detail from the Cadians in the 9th edition and Darktide trailer with the existing miniatures and artwork, desperately searching for any potential clues for a new range/design direction. If there is one thing I've learnt, Cadian uniforms are not that uniform - there is loads of variation between artwork and minis.

I wish Games Workshop had a proper gallery with all of the artwork that's ever featured in their codexes, rulebooks, old boxes etc arranged by faction. The Warhammer Art website has a very small proportion of them. It would be a great source of inspiration for painting and good promotion for their products. Just seems like a no brainer.

I think it looks good, my only gripe is that I think the armour looks too small/short, in my opinion it should come down to the bottom of the ribs and this will look better, but from what I understand the GW studio had quite a lot of input into the aesthetics so it’s what they think is right.

Wow, what an incredible large-scale realization of the Guard. Probably won’t be getting one at that cost, but it’s a really impressive render.

Buddy I can’t understand how you can complain when you play a game as ridiculously expensive as warhammer that’s played using tiny plastic soldiers. These figures are pretty much a bargain compared to a box of little models, some paint, some glue and a bunch of scenery.

If you have a gaming room these are superb adornments for the room. They will add character and fun to the room. No different to my wifes collection of ornaments etc around the house.

I think that's why he started with "this might be a bit rich from..."

Honestly, we've all got different ways of calculating what's of value to us and what amount of our life we are willing to exchange for that. Some people think stuff like this I sort great, I'm not one of them - if others want to buy them, cool for them, but I'd prefer to use my monetarily exchanged chunks of time for other things.

Personally, I'd want more gear with something like this if I were to buy it.

As cool as a this is, I'd have preferred a Ksarkin or even a grunt rather than an officer.

I do find it hilarious that some people were saying the size of newer marine stuff looks great next to regular humans like Cadians, and then GW upsized the humans so they are the same height as marines again

See above; but they mentioned an Officer needing men to lead, ergo we're going to get a basic Cadian troop, with probably weapons to swap for specialists.

They have also said other regiments. Obvious ones would be Kreig, Ghosts and Catachan. I’m sure we will get a commissar and an inquisitor if all runs well. They can leave the marines to Bandai.
