Aurox returns!

The Aurox is back on sale, not even pre-order, in the FW store as of this evening.

First example I can think of of a kit that was pulled - not just out of stock - returning so quickly?

After learning some information on how the FW casting process works, I think a lot of what they retired has more to do with proximity to other kits.

For example, MK II was likely on the same mold as MK III and MK IV, hence why it was retired due to plastic kits but the newer MK V and MK VI kits were not.

For the shoulderpads that went out earlier, my guess is that there were two molds, one for the more common of each legion and one for the less common, and they retired the less common mold, hence why we could see a pattern.

A little off topic, but something I thought about.

Perhaps the mold of the aurox broke, kind of like the Iron Hands dreadnought.

That is odd. It reminded me back around the time the Aurox disappeared I tried to order a DKoK Leman Russ Executioner when it was showing available in the US, but no longer available in the UK. They ended up cancelling the order, saying via email that it wouldn’t be available again until September. It’s still not available, but maybe it’ll turn up again after all.

Man I’d love for DKoK grenadiers to come back.

There might’ve been some panic ‘everything must go’ decisions on the business side when Covid hit and then once they realized they’re doing better with the pandemic they rolled those decisions back. With most of the US outside of big cities back to normal if they hit people with some ‘bundle’ deals when the next stimulus check hits they’ll make a windfall. Edited by Marshal Rohr

A little bird implied someone higher up the chain making the decisions on things to cut didnt know the Aurox was in the new book and looked pretty silly when the fans brought it up, thus the quiet return.

Still, if you want them id grab them asap as i suspect they will still be on the potential chopping block next time FW needs to free up some SKUs.

If true that is quite funny and also a peak example of when sales decisions go wrong...
