I completely agree with this. I don't take anyone disagreeing with me seriously as some kind of personal affront. We are all Wolf brothers and want the best for our boys.
Heroic intervention and space wolves
I was browsing other marines and noticed the BA version of the 6" HI costs them 3 CP (used to be 1 previously...wonder if it is a typo)
Ours is still 1 CP
They nerfed wulfen to oblivion
1.No feel no pain
2.No advance and charge
3.No core keyword
4.No extra wound
5. Nerfed hammers and shields
6. almost same point cost
7. they shouldnt have attacked to gain the death frenzy thing
At least they boosted thunderwolves a bit

Wulfen were always so weird to me. I hated using them, like...
1. They were more durable than Terminators
2. They were more mobile than Thunderwolves
3. They hit as hard as dreadnoughts
4. They buffed better than Wolf Priests
5. All at once.
and we're okay with that? they took away from a whole bunch of other units just by being tremendously more efficient and DOING ALL THE THINGS.
They nerfed them too much like they did with thunderwolves all those years.
I am ok with the nerfs to strong units but not to unplayable levels

I do agree wulfen need a price drop. However, they are still faster than wolf guard in power armor, still have a beneficial aura (and blood claw units still get the extended range), and still hit very hard. T5 doesn't replace FnP, but IMO they never should of had FnP. They should be glass cannons, as they are space wolves that lost control of their inner beast. I still feel they can serve the rout very well.
Super excited that the TWs seemingly got buffed.
Annoyed at the relics being gone and the loss of alot of the 'unique spin' sort of stuff, its really irksome.
Call me crazy, but the wording on the rules combined with Avenging Son specifying that Guilliman had Cawl make an equal number of Primaris from each bloodline makes me think we are in for ALOT of successor Wolves come the Supplement. I'm hyped for that.
I am not a fan of Wulfen so I'm not that upset to see them get weakened.
Overall, I'm let down but not too bothered and excitedly prepping to play my wolves again. Really hoping the Supplement is exceptional though.
Not in the sense of everything being powerful, more in the sense of it retaining more of the unique 'VIth' flavoring to the Astartes.
Also, delusionally hoping we see some Wolf Primaris models. Unlikely, I know, that we will see anything more than Ragnar being out on his own but a man can hope!
Have a lovely day

No more Axe and Shield Dread

No more Axe and Shield Dread
We will get that with our supplement, no doubt. It's a unique variant, and we do get that load out option for our wulfen dreads. I am not surprised GW didn't include everything in the new index.
No more Axe and Shield Dread
It's in the main Codex, baked into the VenDread datasheet. And the Wulfen Dread can have it too.

And its weirdly pricier too.
What I saw was 10 for the Axe and 15 for the shield, as opposed to the prices on the Wulfen.
Granted, I am just getting back into wolves now so it might have been like that for ages and I forgot lol.

Lots of good analysis and discussion on here, what a crazy time to be alive in hobby land
My hot takes are:
Yeah, I'm having a hard time understanding now how PA was "written with 9th in mind" - did they mean that literally? "We were writing the PA books knowing that 9th was coming, but that didn't stop us from intending them to be useless in 6-10 months..." I was worried to see the excluded units list and the Terminators units - it spoke of bad things to come to me, and I feel like that is bearing out. I'm right there with Bulwyf on the feeling that GW has a longIt says, "The rules from the 2018 (8th Edition) version of Codex: Space Wolves are no longer supported, and cannot be used. Similarly, if a Space Wolves rule from Psychic Awakening: Saga of the Beast does not feature within this document, it cannot be used."
That means that Codex: SW and the SW part of Saga of the Beast is completely retired in lieu of the PDF, with some funky wording for Saga of the Beast, as it hold rules for Orks as well.
I'm going to be frank, I don't know what you're talking about with the Terminator units and why it's a portent of doom. I'm totally lost.
For context on why I'm lost, they're plastered all over the front cover of the SW supplement, and the base codex has rules that requires the Deathwing command squad that we now see in the FAQ, so obviously they intend to reflect the specialist terminators in the book, as they've already committed something in print there. If a unit was to be deleted, then I think we'd see it in the FAQ, like Sammael on Sableclaw was for the DA.
As far as the PA complaints of them being invalid quickly, I don't disagree there. I don't think they can do that a second time though, definitely not getting me and likely many others to bite if shallow campaign books like that happen again.

Relax. This is just temporary until our supplement arrives. I wouldn't run it to a tournament but there are not a lot of those on anyway at the moment. Our Codex will be here before Christmas and we can all enjoy the festive cheer of too much and slaughtering your foes with a shiny new codex.
That supp better be thicc.
so I think the saga system is gone.
why?
helm of the Iron mountain no longer procs the saga as complete
You may be right in the end but as of right now they simply don’t exist so it would be useless. No reason they couldn’t reprint whats essentially the old wording if they refactor the new sagas though.so I think the saga system is gone.
