Personally I paint in batches because I typically paint with 1 colour at a time (except for corrections before adding the shades), but I have noticed that larger batches can prove boring or even daunting, one of the issues that initially caused me to delay painting stuff. However, for 15-25 infantry soldiers at a time I think it works reasonably well, since by the time I finish the last model with a given colour, the first one can be painted with the next colour without issues. Obviously, batch painting might not work well for those looking for the highest quality results, but for larger armies I think it is the best approach.

I think you’re both right that batch painting is definitely more efficient.

 

I usually do my smaller models in between 2-5 at a time but I crave that sense of completion you get from finishing a model!

 

It’s that fix of finishing one that spurs me on to do more.

 

That’s my psychology I guess.

Different strokes for different folks and all that. Whatever gets painted dolls on the table, thats all that matters.

I’ve now finished half of my first Squadron of Deathriders!

 

Really happy with them, I think the use of the wet pallet has helped immensely with this project.

 

Can’t recommend them enough.

Quick question, I’m planning out what to get next for the Krieg.

 

I’m caught in 2 minds, I currently have 6 Infantry Squads do you think that’s enough?

 

Or do I get a couple of Super Heavies? ( I’m thinking Shadowsword or Baneblade or both)

 

Or do I get some Leman Russ Variants? Maybe a Tank Commander or something?

 

Any help would be much appreciated.

 

I’m currently working on the last of my first squadron of Deathriders and should have an update soon.

Half way through chapter 10 now. Fell asleep near the beginning for 30 mins so was a bit confused with the two plots going on until I figured out what was going on, loving it now. I wont say any more incase people have not had a chance to enjoy it yet.

As a signature unit for the Krieg I’ve done my best on them and I think they’ll look very imposing on the table top.

I’m in 2 minds as to what to paint next for the Krieg it’s either gonna be a Demolisher or a Hades Breaching Drill.
