So this is my first real attempt at the Swift Blade RoW. Lemme know what you guys think! I don't actually own most of these models so definitely looking for advice before I make any purchases.

Thanks!

So it’s definitely a cool list but it’s unfortunately illegal, the ROW requires 3 compulsory HQ choices and you have only 2, though the solution is super easy and actually frees up some points, I’d swap one of the primus medicaes out for two apothecaries on bikes which saves you 20 points and then I’d swap the other one for a compulsory consul, if you want killing power I’d personally go for Delegatus for that sweet sweet paragon blade, a chaplain for fearless, or if you just want to keep them cheap a stock standard centurion with the usual trimmings and a headsman’s axe would also be fine.

Side note/addendum: in additionally after I had written all this and made the list myself on quartermaster and checking book 9 it’s also over the points limits due to the fact hussars are 150 points per squad not 120. Again the solution is simple, drop the outriders to 9 man squads, in my version I swapped the power fists in the list to chainglaives, dropped the meltabombs on the HQs and had a stock centurion as my 3rd compulsory hq which then saved enough additional points for a third apothecary.

Now this is more my personal preference showing through but especially for close combat focused bike armies the humble attack bike squad is far better than the sky slayer squad, so like for like (5 with multi meltas) you get an extra attack base on the profile and access to squad wide melta bombs, with the melta bombs the squad comes out 10 points cheaper, albeit without a seargent and a power fist. Now while the loss of a seargent is certainly a downside you exchange that for doing twice the amount of attacks in cc which I think is a more than worthwhile exchange, and while the loss of ap2 is a bummer vs 2+ infantry you are nearly twice as threatening vs dreadnoughts, vehicles and monstrous creatures in cc.

Again my advice with sky hunters again is more my opinion and is heavily based off of Ryan Kimmels biker manifesto that he shared on the eye of Horus podcast. This is a unit that is really meant to be a shooting unit, between the heavy bolters, manoeuvrability and 2+ armour. If positioned and moved correctly they should never even be threatened by a melee unit, in addition their 2+ means they don’t need to rely on jink to weather shooting as much meaning they can fire at full effectiveness more often. As such if you want to use it as a shooting platform the only upgrade they need/should have is to swap the heavy bolter for a volkite culverin for more anti infantry fire power. If you want to go for more melee punch as the meltabombs and power fist suggest frankly another outrider squad will contribute far more, another 10 man squad of outrider like the ones you have already costs the same.

But outside of the HQ and apothecary changes to make it a legal list the other two changes are just small efficiency/personal preference adjustments. In fact I might actually steal this list with a few more personal tweaks for myself as I really like it

So just as a frame of reference this is what my iteration of you list looks like. I think I may decide on swapping out the flyers for something else as 1) my EC already have/plan to have 4 fire raptors, and 2) I feel like being a bit of a hipster and eschewing the lightning as it’s to mainstream of a choice :tongue.:
