Nothing earth shattering here, but WHTV just posted this on FB. Might be interesting to some.

Been seeing a lot of jokes on the internet today about this thing-- most of them in regards to its resemblance to "adult novelties".

Cant say im a fan of the design, or gws need to come out with another handle-- they already have 3? Cant they come out with some other doodad for the hobby?

While it could be the butt of a few jokes, it’s a family friendly board folks.

There's a few people I know who are genuinely ecstatic over this particular design - it's a shape that's considerably easier for people with certain physical impairments to hold.

I'm always in favour of inclusivity.

I have no real opinion about the design, but if it's more ergonomic for certain folks that's always fine. It could be good, but I'd need to hold one to have an opinion about that.

Is it going to be the same price? Will be annoying if the new sleeker, less material-y handle costs more.

Hey, at least I made the effort to make a more original jab at it! :D

Welp, soon GW will go from a model company to model handling company hehe

Looks, ok, but i hope that base is weighted...my normal GW handles tip over quite easily when a model is sitting on top dry.png  i've considered gluing a rather hefty steel washer to the base of them to stop the tipping...

This one looks like it'll fall even easier ermm.gif

I dunno, I prefer the OG one because its thicker to hold at the top and I can get a firm hand grip as well in the palm of my hand. Missed opportunity from GW not making a limited edition pink/ purple one with the EC logo instead. teehee.gif

nobody else think its random they have converted marine on it :P

Head is ultramarine upgrade, body looks like one of the easy to build ones that came in sets of three. Just random as GW don't tend to show that sort of thing very much anymore.

also, i prefer the old one, thankfully I have about 5.

Prefer the old one, bought five of them infact, and one of the ones for dreadnought bases. This new one looks it'll topple over very easily.

I do find it hilarious that some people were saying the size of newer marine stuff looks great next to regular humans like Cadians, and then GW upsized the humans so they are the same height as marines again

It seems like less material would make it more inconvenient to grab. I hope it got some heft; the other handle, while it has been great, tips over more easily than I’d expect.

I have two of the original GW ones, but to be honest, I actually prefer one of the 35ml Vallejo pigment pots, with the model stuck to it with blu-tac. blush.png (the Tamiya large mixing jars [#81042] can work well, too)

A MK2 version, I’m assuming as it’s GW it’ll have 3 wounds now? XD

Anyway....-cough- I’ll just stick to a old paint pot and blue tac. Though I have heard great things about them, especially for those hobbyists which find it more challenging to hold miniatures steady etc. If someone does purchase one a review would go down well I’m sure!

Hopefully the centre of gravity is lower on this one. The XL handle with a Redemptor Dread attached is always toppling over.

If the shape of the handle makes it easier for people to hold that could be a good thing, shame they dont have them with really fat handles, starting to get pains in my hands now when I paint, play xbox, roll a ciggy, play guitar, typing out replies on here, all my pastimes involve holding things or using my hands in awkward positions... This product will be pointless to me personally but if it helps others who cant use the older style ones then thats a bonus...

Could you hold the bottom of this one? From it's looks, this model appears to be holdable like a brandy glass, or maybe an outstretched downward facing palm, between the fingers. no actual gripping needed.

Guess I could give it a go, no harm in trying. Might just take a week or so away from the usual hobby stuff and catch up on all the films I have downloaded since lockdown started and give my hands (and eyesight, lighting in mine is crap for painting) a break for a bit.
