Wishlist for a supplement

haha,... I want to hear what exactly.

 

in terms of rules I hope to see:

 

-stratagem to use each litany for one unit in any phase,

-Miracle dice

-stratagem to gain cp if killing a character

 

What i expect to see and if not I would be very disappointed

- a better superdoctrine (reroll to hit)

- easier access to rerolls in close combat

- VOWs in any form

- Exemplar of the chapter Stratagem for 2 WL-traits.

 

Lore:

I hope to see more new lore, more things which are not run of the mill thing...

I want to see the new agenda of Helbrecht, what are his goals and how did the templar changed with primaris ( and i hope the changes are bigger.. i mean something like Helbrecht want to rebuild a legion sized chapter for example)

I want to read what the black Templars thinking about the new enemies, the other factions...

 

Models:

at least one Primaris special character - Helbrecht would be awesome ( and +1 to wound instead of +1 Str. )

In terms of lore I would like to know what happened to Draco and his Crusade against the Gue'vasa and what made the Inquisition declare him traitor. 

For rules a better doctrine would be great, a couple more stratagems and maybe a second pass on our warlord traits because most of them suck, also Bladeguard should become a Sword Brethren unit with some buff, maybe they could tank wounds for characters or something and I would love to see a Primaris Crusader squad.

I'd be fine if we got new Helbrecht and an upgrade kit, those two things are what I have been wanting for a long time and its not such a huge ask considering every other Chapter has gotten that.

Rules:

 

Something that makes 20 man crusader squads something we would actually want to take.

 

A unit of specialist sword brethren with massive anti-witch/xenos rules, similar to that new space wolf unit, but not reivers...

 

Space marine bikers with biker neophytes in the same unit.

 

Of course, a new, and useful, super doctrine.

 

Something to make our land raider crusaders better.

 

 

Lore:

 

More crusade stories against each xenos race and chaos.

 

Along with you medj, I want to know what helbrect is up to. Idk if it was already said somewhere, but ghaz is fighting space wolves now instead of helbrecht hunting him? Why did helbrecht stop the chase? Was he ordered to? Did he catch a glimpse of imotek?

 

I want more specifics on how you go through the ranks of the templars. When a neophyte becomes an initiate, how exactly is his unit chosen? Does he stay with his initiate teacher's squad? Does he make a new squad with other newly promoted neophytes and have to grow bonds with them? Does he get to choose? How about sword brethren? If you get promoted, you leave your squad and have to form bonds with the marines in the marshals household. If you're lucky, you might get to lead your old squad?

 

 

Minis:

 

New sword brethren kit that isn't fine cast. In fact, de-finecast everything.

 

A new upgrade kit.

 

A kit for my aforementioned new unit i wanted

 

I'm not sure about helbrecht as primaris. It would make my non primaris force sad.

 

Edit: rules: of course, I would love to have vows back. And also, the EC not being in HQ, or not taking an HQ slot.

If we got a supplement, I want a little parity: a second-warlord-trait stratagem, special-issue wargear, and a bonus litany for chaplains would be nice. (Technically we get the IF litany, but it's pretty irrelevant to us.) Then, let our super-doctrine work on vehicles, or just rework it completely.

 

If they expand our stratagem list to match the ~16 of other supplements, I'd really like to get back Suffer Not The Unclean To Live from the Sword Brethren detachment (ideally with fewer keyword restrictions), and some version of our other two vows, Uphold The Honor Of The Emperor and Accept Any Challenge, No Matter The Odds. I'm not even super picky about what they should do; the four vows used to be the mechanic that defined us, and it's quite sad that only one of them even exists anymore. But if I'm wishlisting, maybe Uphold would be some kind of reactive durability buff against enemy shooting, and Accept would be a 3d6 charge stratagem?

 

On the hobby side, a Primaris upgrade sprue and a Primaris character model would be great, although if they stop selling the old upgrade sprue I'm not totally sure it's a net gain. Maybe a "Repulsor Crusader" variant, marrying transport capacity with a Gladiator Reaper-like weapon loadout; that would be fun.

I'd like our Terminator, Veteran, and certain character units to gain the Sword Brother keyword similar to what they've done for Wolfguard and Deathwing. Then to gain strat support for said Brethren. A 2d6 deny strat with +1 for every other BT unit within 6 for SB only, can only be wounded on 4+ for SB only, and +1 attack and reroll wounds for SB only.

 

EC needs to gain some sort of utility buff, such as access to a Litony, or else making every BT unit on the table fearless on a turn in which he slays a character. He also needs a EC specific strat that rewards CP for slaying an enemy character or monster, more if it's the Warlord.

 

LR Crusaders need an assault buff of some kind. Let us charge 3d6 out of one, or disembark into combat against something that charges us, or move then disembark, etc. Something to give us a game plan for using it. Whatever it is, tack on immunity to overwatch similar to our current Shock Assault.

 

LR Crusaders need a once per game 2 CP strat at the beginning of the battle that upgrades one to a blessed hull, giving it a 5+ invuln and a 6+ FNP.

 

Grimaldus needs to be able to take his Servators as ablative wounds in his unit, making them untargetable and buffing his Litonies to a 2+. They should keep their 4+ mortal wounds aura.

 

A once per game 1 CP auto pass on a Litany would be nice, similar to what Word Barers get for psychic. if we roll and fail we can spend 1 CP for that character to succeed the roll. Failing that, a 1 CP strat to let us chant an extra Litany that round.

 

Our +1 attack Litany should be changed to be flat +1 A, or at the very least +1 A when charging, charged, or heroic.

 

Remove the -2 Leadership Litany and replace it with an immunity to Morale Litany. An aura would be great, but choosing a single unit would be acceptable.

 

Make the fight first litany an aura, or turn it into a choose 1 enemy unit and they fight last until your next command phase.

 

Add a strat to allow 1 unit to make a move and advance if they are chosen as the target of a shooting attack (in the enemy's shooting phase, not when they overwatch).

 

Change Crusader squads to give reroll 1s to hit in melee for everyone when there is at least as many initiates as Neophytes in the unit.

 

Change our 6+ to hit auto wounds aura to work in the fight phase regardless of charges/heroics or target, and give us a warlord trait that changes it to 5+ within 6".

 

Change our Abhor the witch strat to 4+ within 24 inches, +1 within 12", +2 within 3"

 

Change our deny fallback strat to 1 CP and have it auto apply like Night Lords.

 

Update our skull relic to not be one use, and if the psycher dies it counts as Perils of The Warp.

 

Give us access to Special Wargear.

 

Give us access to the 2 WT on 1 character strat.

Caestus assault rams, the most Black Templar-ish flyer ever.

 

Pulpits to mount atop Repulsor turrets and Land Raider hulls, converting them into Chaplainmobiles for Grimaldus and other worthy Chaplains.

 

Reaper chainswords for Aggressors and Inceptors. Yes, I want my Templars to wield weapons scaled for Knight warsuits, so they'll look like Guts wielding the Dragonslayer from the Berserk manga/anime. Maybe mount a twin bolt rifle in a skull-shaped turret (the eye sockets frame the gun muzzles) to their Gravis armor, so they may provide their own suppressive fire, allowing the Templars to bring the enemy within reach of the Reaper chainswords.

You realize that the new model versions would be primaris?

Im a bit on the traditional side. If we get our unique stuff back , we dont need edgy new units.

Sword bros will do just fine.

Rules: Give us back things like vows so that there's more utility to EC than being a beatstick. Advancing under fire. Update it to fit the 9th edition game board.

 

Fluff: New fluff. What's the chapter been up to recently? Update icongraphy and banners and lore and crusade make ups, dont just copy paste the 4th edition codex, but stay true to it.

 

Models: Renew everything. From characters to upgrade kit. Everything in between. Give us something new and cool too, why not? Gravis assault unit with eviscerators, maybe?

Rules:

return the run to the nearest enemy when casualties are taken rule. That was great fun and challenged the BT player to position his squads carefully, so it's not all sunshine for the BT and OP.

The vow system was awesome, you could adjust your vow according to your enemy, giving some tactical flexibility, maybe combine it with stratagems?

Mixed neophyte, firstborn and primaris crusadersquads would be awesome, since our boys fight more in an ad hoc style with squads forming more out of comaradery then doctrine.

 

Fluff, yes Draco I've got the model, and love to hear about him, and Ghaz vs Hellbrecht and Grim, that story has lots of loose ends.

 

Mini's:

A firstborn and primaris combi upgrade sprue, since we are not against primaris, but still have an enormous supply of firstborn that the inquisition doesn't know of :biggrin.: .

A new primaris character, rubiconning our existing woud imho kill their fluff.

A primaris and a firstborn EC with viable rules for both, since there is no preset source for the EC. A primaris can have equal chance when bestowed with enough zeal to become an EC then a firstborn.

Well said. As the Emperor's Champion fills an HQ slot, how about making him grant +1 Attack to all allied units within a 6" radius of him, or other bonus?

Well said. The copypasta is beyond annoying. (I'm pissed the writers for Codex: Space Wolves were lazy enough to copy a poem praising Bran Redmaw in the 3rd Edition Codex, replacing the Wolf Lord's name with Logan Grimnar's, and then posting it in the 5th Edition Codex. Anyone else notice such self-plagiarism in other Codices?)

So all said and done: if we are wish listing here I want-

The ability to use kits already exisf for us or more accurately I should say:

Biker Crusader Squads, let us us take Scout Bikers in our Biker Squads

 

Then a general rule “If a BT Infantry or Bike Model has an option to take a Flamer or a weapon from the special weapon list, that model may take a Power Sword, Power Ax, Power Maul or Power Fist instead”

 

“5ppms for Power Ax/Sword/Maul

10ppm for Power Fist”

 

Or add,

“In BT Biker Squads instead of taking weapon from special weapon lisr may (Crusader Power Weapon) List”

“In BT Assault instesd of taking a flamer may take (Crusader Power weapon) list”

Wishlisting:

 

  • new (not Ctrl+C Ctrl+V'd) lore - modern Crusade banners, seals, etc
  • Primaris EC, retaining rules for the Firstborn one as presumably they can come from either source and so as to not screw over Firstborn players
  • some way to put an invulnerable on a tank
  • some way to make it easier to cast Litanies
  • some form of Primaris Crusader squad (AssInts being able to take extra Power Swords?)
  • a modern upgrade sprue - I love the old one, but it is really starting to show its age when compared to newer sculpts - just give me some warning so I can stock up - I'm still bitter about missing out on the FW termi shields

I would say we might  need to wait until Jan/Feb to get some news.

Hopefully sooner.

 

Its going to be an AoS year, so im expecting some news around the same time Custodes were released a while back.

Summer/Fall should be AoS focused i reckon.
