Maybe they don't care about you anymoretongue.png ... FW goes where the money is at the time... shrug...

it's not the end of the world for you though...your models will come out one day...in the future...

It's entirely possible something went heinously wrong with the Contekar / Tarvitz / etc and they've had to give them some additional work. It wouldn't be the first time we've had a model from Forge World make it to within a stones throw of the finishing line and it's had to be changed, or cut entirely.

People forget about my boy Bran Redmaw.

At this point my best guess for the Contekar is that some chucklehead dropped the mold and broke it and now FW isn’t sure how to tell us.

I'm going to put my neck on the line and speculate that the 'decadence' part of this preview is maybe not Slaanesh/EC (as awesome as it'd be to see the latter!), but Drukhari. I'm basing this on:

- 40k previews have featured what appears to be a new Drukhari model (hopefully Lilith)
- 40k previews have also explicitly stated the first two Codex releases in 2021 will be a Marine one, and a Xenos one.
- We've not seen any other previews (e.g. Rumour Engine) suggesting any Slaaneshi Astartes.

Still, we'll find out on Saturday..! :)

Drukhari.... wouldn’t that be sweet !... there’s probably a 100% more chance of that happening than Contekar …msn-wink.gif

Either that or FW is being really petty as everyone put them on blast about the Contekar, from in universe place to how they look etc- they took it personally in their responses. So I could see them throwing anything out front of them release wise to spite the 30k community.

Slannesh Mortals have been teased for AOS for a while with a big new plot point in the latest book released 2 days ago so I expect the Decadence part to be about that instead of EC

(Thought I would be happy if its both)

The free models they are giving away in stores are Aos Witch elf followed by 40k death guard then aos hedonite of slaanesh. I guess that means deathguard soon followed shortly by AoS slaanesh.

They’ll get there with the Contekar. It took a ridiculous amount of time for the Deathwing Companions to come out but they did finally, Contekar will be next.

It does appear we are entering another slow 30k release period though, slower than I’d thought it would be even with the corona restriction induced delays. We haven’t even seen anything previewed beyond Saul Tarvitz and the WB praetors. I’m surprised we haven’t seen any previews yet for the firewing cabal, hussar bikers and sky seeker jet bikers.

I am fatigued of complaining about HH support at this point.

Literally 1 FW kit over 3 months after book 9 dropped, it's censored.gif ing humiliating the level of support.

Dude, pandemic.

Okay, the pandemic is NOT an excuse in this case.

As Skimask said, the Contekar Counter is now up to 13 weeks since Crusade until we can actually own them. I genuinely doubt we'll see them on pre-order before December, MAYBE in December.

Night Lords Contekar Terminators were revealed in The Road to Thramas – Part 3: Terror Troops, on February 3, 2020. This was the 3D model render.

Then in Warhammer Preview Online: Shadow, Iron & Broken Realms on August 22, 2020 we have painted models of them.

Book Nine: Crusade was released on September 4th, 2020

Since the reveal, and release of Crusade, we've had SEVERAL models ALL FROM FORGE WORLD, revealed and released.

And we can't even use the "Well, Covid" excuse because since then we've had:

  • Several Necromunda Hired Guns
  • Multiple Blood Bowl Star Players
  • Adeptus Titanicus Mechanicus Knights
  • Aeronautica Imperialis models (including Battlefield Assets)

All revealed and released before the Contekar Terminators were released.

All of those are single models with probably a far smaller number of expecte sales. So they take longer to prepare. Combine with the reduced production capacity with covid it makes sense they can put out thos smaller kits but struggle to produce enough for the bigger kits/larger units.

The store manager at my local Warhammer store told me that in a managers' briefing recently, they were told that there would be ten battle boxes at Christmas time this year - six for 40k, and four for AoS. He mentioned this was the first time they let the managers know how many were coming, but not what factions they were going to be.

Not a surprise there same as last year, just going to be interesting how many they will produce given the situation

What about Saul Tarvitz and praetors though? We have singular kits announced, yet those don't trickle in with them either. Clearly it's prioritization, not size of kit that is the main parameter here.

For the battleforces, I am glad they are doing them this year. I figured they were just delayed some, announcement is really only off about 2 weeks from last year.

Regarding Heresy, I would be thrilled if they did announce a coming FAQ/Errata to fix some of the issues from book 8/9 (unlikely I know but I can still dream).  My hype for the NL termis is gone at this point.
As for the rest : Some love for the Dark Eldars and SIanesh is great as I am looking forward to have a look at the new Lilith model and hope that the new slanesh models for AoS pave the way for an imminent EC release.

Probably still a larger number of expecte sales. Imagine the outcry if they put him out and run out of stock in the first 5 minutes of preorder.

The points made elsewhere about why the Contekar's delay is strange and irritating are solid but I think literally attributing it all to spite - to a specific malicious desire on the part of the company to make the poor long-suffering 30k community miserable by delaying a product release - is silly and solipsistic. It's toddler logic.

It also lacks any evidence, and is rather supposition, aimed at making others feels angry or negative to GW over this. It's rather "of our time", but not helpful to anyone?

Im usually quick to call out FW being crap but FW is covering a dozen systems and has lost more than half of their production capacity to social distancing measures so things are all over the place, they will get the things out where they can, its not like they have suddenly become money adverse :D

That said im certainly salty that AT seems to have lost half its plastic budget this year leaving the eye wateringly priced mechanicum questoris as a consolation prize :/

Something to note - the last six to eight months has also seen the Specialist Games Design Team hiring a significant amount of new staff (in total, there have been roughly ten to fifteen listings in that time). So not only have a few positions been refilled due to departures, but the team has likely expanded as well.

That's a reasonably large shake-up, and it'll take time for everything to settle down. Regardless, as Noserenda said the studio is responsible for multiple systems now and they'll have a release schedule to follow. If Heresy or any other system are "left out" for a while that's too bad.

I am keen to see what the other potential battleforce boxes are.

As for the decadence and decay key words, the chonky death guard terminator model was teased recently, so maybe that is something to do with it. I'd love to see some serious Slaanesh updates, it's been way too long!

I am a marine player, and i'm sick of the amount of releases they've had. Other armies need more input hands down

I don't know about drukhari.

I mean, I reeeeally want to be them but even in the whc article they said "big reveals, especially for chaos players". And with all the teasers for slaanesh in AoS...

I think we will see Drukhari next year. Hope I'm wrong.

And no matter the case, I love reveals of any kind, actually I need them :D.
