Roboute Guilliman in a non-Ultra army

One of my bombshells of an idea happened today, and I had a thought of - what if I could use Gulliman for my Grey Knights. I figure he's a primarch, lord of war, is decent in all regards. My problem was this -  what synergies with non-ultramarines would he have. Then I remembered that if you add an Inquisitor, not only would your army be battle-forged, you would replace certain terms with the keyword of Imperium. Both Grey Knights and Gulliman have that keyword, so then the question arose of whether I could use his abilities. So here are my questions:

1. Is an Inquisitor required to get battle-forged for Grey Knights, even accounting for the fact that they both they and Gulliman have the IMPERIUM keyword?

2. If the above idea is correct, what rules of Gulliman would change from Ultramarine specific to Imperium specific keywords, and would Grey Knights benefit from it?

3. Gulliman grants 3CP when he's your warlord, and removing 3CP from the tallypool of 15 (GK Battalion+Ultramarine Super-heavy detachment) would put us down to 12, even if the Grey Knights don't have a Grey Knight warlord, so then why is battle-scribe saying I have 9?

4. With the above logic, would Grey Knights benefit from SM doctrines because of Gulliman as a warlord? (Probably not, but worth asking)

Thanks for the response!

1. Inquisitors are entirely separate from the army. They're Agents of the Imperium, of which, Imperium armies can take one without losing detachment specific rules

2. None would change. His rules either only affect Ultramarines or Imperium depending upon the rule. His key words and ability keywords are set.

3. Battlescribe is probably just not working properly. Guilliman MUST be your warlord (as per the FAQ and Supreme Command Detachment) so he grants you 3CP, he however does not cost you any CP to take in the Supreme Command Detachment and refunds the cost of your other detachment.

4. Absolutely not. The Grey Knights and Space Marines codexes are entirely separate. What will happen though, is because your army is no longer entirely made of Grey Knights, you will lose the "Masters of the Warp" ability from Ritual of the Damned, which is essentially their Doctrines rules.

All in all, outside of cool factor, Guilliman doesn't really help the Grey Knights beyond adding +1 to Advance and Charge rolls and re-roll 1s to hit within 12" of him.

With regards to point 2 - So there is no way for his rules to change the Ultramarines keywords to Imperium, is there?

With regards to point 4 - that's what I was asking, because I recall adding an Inquisitor somehow prevents us from losing Masters of the Warp/Brotherhood of Psykers ability, or at least in 8th edition. Unless I am wrong and that was changed with 9th?

As for the cool factor, I just had an inkling of an idea of whether I could build a melee GK focused list with him being in there.

2. Guilliman has separate abilities that buff just Ultras or all Imperium. No way to amend them.

4. Inquisitors can be included without losing your detachment abilities. Guilliman has no such rules sadly.

Guess rule of cool it is, thanks for clearing that up, much appreciated :)

This is not the place for that kind of discussion. If you wish to discuss lore (edit - or what you think the rules should be, based upon said lore), kindly do so in the appropriate sub-forum. In this case, given that it's a discussion not limited to one faction, Amicus would probably be the best place.

Further posts not concerned with the official rules as they are now will be removed.
