Also I'm a bit confused wasn't the whole thing about primaris that they didnt have any of the chapter flaws so how do they have death company ones, have i missed some nit of lore / novel oe something?

Sort of. The IX-Legion Primaris have the Red Thirst (that's a feature, not a bug), but the Black Rage appeared in Primaris after the Primaris started being made 'in-house'.

My theory of the Blood Angels forgetting what their Omophagea does is once again reinforced, as Primaris Death Company only started appearing after they drank from the Grail containing Sanguinius' blood...

It’s been explained fully in lore now, the Red thirst was put there by the emperor so cawl didn’t see it as a flaw

And the Black rage is a psychic curse from when Sang died so it can’t be removed via gene seed etc

Bladeguard will probably come out with Storm Speeder next year with Dark Angels.

DA are the most thematic there, as they're going to want to push Deathwing and Ravenwing.

Where did you read that Gederas? I’ve never seen that before

I believe it settled in immediately after Sanguinius’s death cry though, it’s a psychic curse though it can only be fixed in the warp, it’s “mostly” explained in darkness in the blood

HH setting makes a few of the remarks about the whole thing. The Red Thirst was there from the beginning, the black rage came later.

 

What sparked black rage is somewhat unknown still but it cemented down the lineage once Sanguinius died, thus why it's "death visions of sanguinius". The lore is a little all over the place and it's likely something that was done sometime during the siege of terra since everything written about what the visions are so far revolved around some conflict during that time and not before.

That is not quite correct. It's not currently written to be directly tied to the consumption of blood. But proving either way is hard since all BA drink the blood to activate their geneseed. Prior to Signus and Terra, it was the thirst that Sangunius tried to hide, not some form of black rage. The written fluff so far shows that Signus released a form of it while during the siege it came full bore after Sanguinius' death. From my own perspective, it sounds like the curse was probably created during Signus but it was the Siege that allowed the fell powers to rubber stamp the malady across all the Blood Angels. Perhaps some sort of psychic wound which was then reopened and infected during the Siege. The damage so ingrained that every geneseed has the potential to reopen and control marines.

Primaris being affected by black rage is the interesting bit. We don't know as readers if their geneseed was taken before or after the Siege of Terra or even before/after Signus. It's possible it was after the Siege but there isn't really a clear start/end on when Cawl started his harvest. Being tied to the blood may also be an indicator of sorts in that it activated a dormant part of the geneseed. So initially parimaris weren't having issues until their geneseed was activated with actual blood lineage. Again, not really spelled out so pure speculation.

I haven't read "darkness in the blood" so I can't speak to what the most recently take is from the BL writters themselves.

And again, I have not read darkness in the blood so that would be new to me. It would help to know which books says this. I've only read up to Devastation of Baal and it doesn't address anything about that.

 

Also the general geneseed fluff has eluded to a psychic component to it where in certain memories/behaviors CAN be passed along at times. So as a psychic malady, the geneseed would be the portal for that affliction to come along. Otherwise ANY psychic would be vulnerable in proximity and that hasn't happened as far as I know.

I listen to so many at work it they start to blur, it’s all pretty much in darkness though, it’s an ok read but it fills in some blanks

Anyway back to the pre orders before we drift to far, I’ve been waiting 2 weeks for a GW order now so I’ll probably pre order from a LGS is anyone else had recent shipping delays from GW?

I'm very happy we finally have a date for the Assault Intercessors. Hopefully the Bladeguard release by Christmas. Once those two kits release, I'll have most of my planned infantry units.

I was expecting bladeguard to come out with BA but maybe they will come out in December along with DG and their new character. Cool stuff, glad to see the marine stuff being teleased so they can get to other armies sooner than later.

With the lastest info, my guest is the bladeguard, Stormspeeder and Heavy Intercessor will be release with the DA supplement (for the Deathwing, ravenwing and Greenwing).

I would be shocked if the BG Heavy intercessors and the rest of the main kits weren’t out for Xmas! They’d be missing so much money releasing them mid January and they know it, look at the line up this week, 11 Xmas boxes? Plus the gladiator, assault intercessors re boxed intercessor death company? They’ll step up releases now for Xmas

Whilst it does make sense to get everything out before Christmas there’s literally only two more preorder dates after the 28th where the stuff would get to people before Christmas. It might be pushing it to do it in time.

The Death Company Intercessors seem like a bad jest but I said the same for the Hounds. I hope they dont do the same thing of overcharging twice with them at least.

 

But the news of the Supplement, Assault Intercessors and Gladiator are all very welcome indeed! Really looking forward to picking up a few for my Homebrew Primaris, Wolves and BAngels! Very pleasing.

As for the Blood Angels, I'm happy with it and can't wait for the Supplement, the artwork is also insane. The Phobos set is also great, only thing I don't like about it is the reivers. GW really are trying to force them on.

More or less my meaning, slap the sprue onto the Outriders for poverty Ravenwing.

Trouble is that the sword and shoulders wouldnt work.

Not sure the bladeguard would work with the shields either.

I feel like the most probable one is Hellblasters if you want to use the most of the kit, but I am not fond of more greenwing.

Anyone know what compatibility looks like for Aggressors? I cant tell at a glance if you can get much beyond the shoulders.

The Outriders aren’t multi-part, though, so you can’t swap out their shoulders without cutting them, and the upgrade sprue has the Dark Angels sword and wings, not the single wing/sword of the Ravenwing.

 

In general I think we’ll see Intercessors in every box because they’re the basic Marine troop and these are boxes aimed at new players first and foremost.

 

I think it’s likely it’ll be 5 or 10 Intercessors and 5 Hellblasters with upgrade sprues plus something large like a Redemptor Dreadnought and a character. Bladeguard is possible but some think they don’t want to put a new kit in a starter box.

Upgrade sprue don't work for Ravenwing at all, the arms don't work and RW doesn't use the standard chapter symbol, so the entire sprue is worthless.

Bladeguard are Deathwing, they don't use the same shoulderpads either... different symbol.

I don't really see a kit for us at this moment in time, which is fine with me with good RW/DW rules.

Deathwatch didn't had any "new" unit made combining an already existing kit with the upgrade sprue so it's not a given thing that DA will get a kit made in this way like SW/BA

Honestly i didn't even know what GW could male for DA based on one primaris kit and the primaris upgrade sprue
Maybe only primaris company veterans but they would be just intercessors with a different unit badge

Well are the BA death company guys a new unit? I thought it was only the hounds of morkai that were actually a new thing. As such there’s no reason to expect a new DA unit, I think.

The BA guys seem like just a bundled intercessor squad and accessory sprue. If you need those things it’s not awful.

Yeah, it's nice that it basically makes 3 units: regular intercessors, DC intercessors and veteran intercessors.

If 2 of those boxes are cheaper than a 10 man intercessor squad and 2 BA primaris upgrade sprues, it gives a small discount at least.
