This is a whole company, with 4 full Kill Teams. They're split into three Patrols, in order to maximise the effect of Specialisms. The Xenos Hunters target will match the Specialisms, largely (The Spectrus teams will have either Elites or HQ as their Xenos Hunters target, enemy dependent).

 

The Proteus Kill Team will be converted Primaris with missile launchers, and Aggressors with Hammers, Shields, and Cyclones (watch this space). The Company Command will be converted Assault Intercessors, so everything should be Primaris.

 

There are Incursors in the Spectrus teams in order to save points. They're likely to Combat Squad, to provide lots of Scrambler Area Denial, with the Eliminators being protected by the Helix Adepts.

 

The Outriders are there to scream forward, use the White Scars tactic and the Chaplain charge buff, and charge things first turn. The Proteus team will sit on a home objective and shoot tanks, and be ready to counter punch anything that comes near.

This is a great insight on deathwatch building.

 

However I think that 3 detachements are too many. Probably 2 are the right way to go. 

 

Why?

 

Because you risk to be less effective in my opinion. Commitment to a maximum of 2 battlefield role could be better. 

 

Of course this depend on the meta your local environment play more, but we can try to look better at what people usually use.

 

Troops -> they will be always present, thus the need for an high fire volume unit, capable of versatility and resistance. I'm thinking to Indomitor KT, 5 Heavy Intercessor with assault 3 weapons, 4 Aggressor full bolter and 1 Inceptor. The volume of fire that this unit is capable of is insane against Troops; with re-roll to wound even tougher units could have problem (in tactical doctrine). Another candidate could be Intercessor and Outriders, the latter able to perform first turn charge with the possibility to contest objective.

 

Elite -> another great bet, but I'm unsure of what build could be useful in this setting. 

 

Fast -> unsure, they are situational and with a lot of variability between codex. But with release of SW, the rising of Necrons with Canoptek build and the always overperforming Harelquins they could be a viable specialization.

 

HQ -> they are essential in a lot of lists and armies. Spectrus Kill Team in a detachment with Phoebos character could be effective in wipe out every character in enemy army. That's could be a really viable detachment, able to hit key unit in enemy line while taking advantage of their deployment and re-deployment ability. 

 

Heavy / Transport / Lords of War -> this topic needs a discussion because it depends greatly on the meta. For example Harlequins have a lot of transport, they are an important focus of their playstyle, and they are one of the top tier army. When DG will be released we will se probably an incremented use of Lords of War (see Mortarion datasheet on WC), thus a reason to adopt this specialization.

 

If I have to make a choice I'll go probably with Troops and HQ.

I don't get why do you split it into 3 patrols instead of a battallion, wouldn't the xenos hunter trait work the same for all 3 patrols? I mean you choose a battlefield role and apply it to all of them?

that's because chapter tactics is a detachment ability. 

 

In the new SM codex our chapter tactics is improved, now you choose after deployment. 

 

However you choose for each detachment, then you can have a different commitment for each of them.

 

Thus the 3 detachment.

You're wasting CP. Unless you're going to max out HQs or some other force org slot then you're screwing yourself. The points you're spending on being able to have more specialists could be spent on a watch master, phobos captain or LT.

 

Fortis teams suck. Better to just take 10 stalker-intercessors and some vanguard vets. You already have a bunch of spectrus team marines. Bikes seem less attractive when you have 2 to 4 units with scramblers amd infiltrate. With that many phobos id 100% invest in the primaris LT or CPT to make use of the comms. The medic isn't really much of an efficient add on.

Hoping to stack the xenos fighters and specialist trait on units with melee ability rating just above 'they dont suck' also seems a waste of points and effort.

 

Your only semi point and shoot unit that can really be a melee threat is your chaplain. The lrimaris shield captain is great but what's he got to March up with?
