Quite happy with this to start with this, I think we’re strong able to get victory points quite easily which means we’ll always be in the game

7 Sanguinary Guard 210pts

7 Vanguard Veterans 219pts

w/Sergeant Bolt Pistol and Thunder Hammer/3 Thunder Hammer Storm Shields/3 Storm Shield and Chainsword

Think that leaves me with 9CP

forlorn fury will take two, angels sacrifice and Chalice overflowing will definitely come up at some point, most of the other stratagems are situational and cheep which is why I put quite a bit of CP into the Hero’s and Relics

The plan is to use the mobility to hold more objectives while taking objectives away from the opposition

Dante is there for re-rolls when needed,

priest can put 2 units in assault doctrine for loads of attacks, can be sacrificed to save sanguinary guard and turn off obsec,

librarian is there to make sure we fight first and deal with demons, harlequins custodies anything with invulnerable saves,

The sanguinary ancient give nearly everything an extra 2” move and makes a unit of Sanguinary Guard obsec,

Secondary objectives options

While we stand we fight

Engage on all fronts

Linebreaker

Dominion

Raise banners

Investigate sites

Bring it down

Deploy scramblers

Looks pretty good. I would be tempted to give the Sanguinary Priest Armour Indomitus rather than VoD. He is a rather squishy character but hands out a lot of buffs so giving him +1W and a 2+ save (with a one-off 3++) will go a long way to help keeping him alive.

I could not see on the list, what is the purpose of Artisan of War on the Ancient?

For the 3 damage power fist

visage of death ability to flip a objective for a turn that they thought was safe is massive in game, and probably worth the sacrifice of the priest.

Few things.

Your points for death company is wrong. They pay 3 points per jump pack (battlescribe has it wrong).

You can't use angel exemplar on a hero of the chapter. It has to be your actual warlord.

Ohh thank for letting me know

I’ll have a rethink, but I’ll maybe just drop the Death Company to seven

Yeah having thought about it I’ll just drop a the storm shield off the vanguard veterans Sargent in exchange for a bolt pistol, then the points are right and that way I can choose to have him use the quake bolts if needed, won’t bother with the angels exemplar for artisan of war it was a nice extra but not needed

I actually like quake bolts. I've not heard much talk of them, but it seems like they could be really helpful. Specifically Powerfists or thunderhammers could use the help, but it'd certainly be nice for any upcoming combat. Also, I doubt anyone will focus on a sergeant to kill with so many other threats in the list.

The nullzone pick looks like it'll be popular, and for good reason i think. With the change that it affects your own invulnerable saves, he'll work good with your sanguinary guard. I prefer a bit more durability in a character, as with mephiston or a libby dread, but it seems the tome of malcador is needed. Look out sir is still very helpful in this regard though. There's also the problem of smite (not that I play against thousand sons much myself), so a librarian with a psychic hood opens up a lot of defensive tools for the army.

Sanguinary guard seem good. I worry about walking them up the board. Using an ancient always seems to start a debate whether he's worth it over just buying more guard, but Wrath of Baal should get the turn 2 charge (12" move, +2", advance +2). Though, I also really like icon of the angel. Vanguard vets seem rather good right now too, despite not having much for stratagems.

I like the hammers with death company. I'm torn on the value of forlorn fury, with deployment before determining first turn. I suppose they can deploy in cover in case of going 2nd. If they're out of position they can Upon Wings of Fire out of there. If going 1st they'll certainly launch right out of there. Getting on top of objectives immediately or just tying up units and causing chaos are great uses for death company.

The threat of forlorn fury is reason enough to take one unit of death company, it can change how your opponent would normally deploy.

I rate the quake bolts as well the +1 to hit with the hammers for the death company or vanguard vet is great mitigating the -1 form unwieldy. I also like that I can take it on the vanguard sergeant now if needed.

Mephiston is by far my favourite blood Angel right now but he’s in a weird place, the jump pack librarian just has more answers to different things where mephiston is like a missile.

As for smite spam we do have soulwarden but I’m not sure if I’d take it, unless I was just playing against one player who keeps spamming me
