First off, Halandaar, Grotsmasha - I have no idea how you crank out so many nice minis in a month. And TPS, jesus. Gorgeous work.

 

I have not had a high model count month. You ever have that experience where you do something you think will be cool, and realise you've drastically underestimated your skill ceiling, but now you're committed?

 

Yeah, airbrushing scale 75 fluor paints. Either too thick and goes on like toothpaste, or so thin it spiders at the lowest pressure you can get it out of the nozzle. Spent a lot of time trying to fix by brush, and just making it worse.

 

Finally figured it out last night, so managed to tidy it up to acceptable by 2AM - figured photos could wait till today! You *need* makeup palettes.

 

 

Up to 50/50 scale 75 thinner, mix the bejesus out of it so it stops being lumpy, then pour in the airbrush cup and spray multiple thin layers at minimum pressure. Mixing in the airbrush does *not* cut it for scale 75 fluor paints. Great for blending with a brush (they should be sweet for my Escher hair, which is what I had in mind) - but airbrush? Never again. Credit to the badger patriot though, took me 20 minutes with the reamer to get the sticky, stringy crap out of the nozzle afterwards, but you'd not have guessed from the spray pattern.

 

Anyway, a month's worth of effort - 4 negavolt cultists for BSF.

 

 

And my re-based ur-ghuls.

 

 

I didn't get very far with the 2 rogue psykers in May, so I'll have another go in June.

Im gonna do something a little bit different this month, Im going to build a games table. There will be some dead Guardsmen buried in rubble somewhere so it technically counts as 'painting minis'.
