Ok, so I finished my Skorpekh… Kind of. :ermm:

Long story short, I don't have the instructions and haven't painted the right bits - this is the wrong head and arms for this body, so currently he's cutting into one of his own legs.

I'm going to be taking him apart and reposing him once I've got the others painted in 2035 or whenever I finish them - might not have time this month, all things being equal.

Pretty happy with how the blades turned out, though! Not too bad for a first attempt, I think, although the transitions are a bit clumsy and the highlights too broad. On the other hand, it's hard to see at tabletop distance, and I've never professed to have the highest standards, sooo...

A couple of extra pics below:

I've completed my vow but I need to get some matt varnish on before I photograph. As I feel like I'm on a roll I'm going to make another vow.

I, Dwango , embark on the 12 Months of Hobby Challenge, and for the month of September pledge to complete 10 Death Korps of Kreig veteran guardsman of the 143rd Siege Regiment by month's end.

I, LameBeard, answer the call of the 12 months of hobby challenge, and for the month of September vow to make some progress on my Veteran Guardsman Killteam.

My son sold some stuff and blew all his savings on Octarius. He’s making great progress on the Kommandos. I had a pretty-much legal guard kill team made from Cadians that’s been sitting in a cupboard since before he was born (seriously). So decided time to give them some paint.

Edit: I managed to insert the picture, but I am still having a lot of trouble with the non-mobile version of the site. Anyone else struggling?

Check out r/WahammerInstructions on Reddit next time: they have instructions for most, if not all, modern-day GW kits (mostly 40k, IIRC) available in either PDF or JPEG form and completely free of charge.

Whoops! Looks like I forgot to post my vow over from the A Bug's Life thread, which I've now completed! The original vow (last months unfinished Warriors + a Hive Crone) was posted here 3rd September - Can I still log it here? No worries if not, I'll vow something else anyway!

For September I plan to finish the other 30 choppa boyz, but first, I'm doing these two buggies (a Shokkjump Dragsta and a Rukkatrukk Squigbuggy):

I'm really proud of the chipping, so I wanted to share what they looked like on the 1st of the month:

I'm going to do a third vow, ugh- I should go big in the beginning of the month instead of doing three vows, but I want to make sure I finish stuff...

I, Lord_Ikka, vow to paint one Primaris Apothecary and three Eliminators for September.

I feel like you're about to drop those guys into all sorts of backdrops. That's a really nice red you've got going on there, and likewise the blue helmets.

Here's my completed vow for September - a lone Jackal Alphus.

I feel like I lost something about the face in painting it, which is a shame; but I'm fairly pleased with the overall result.

I want to finish the last one before I start showing-off the whole squad.

Keep it going Brothers and Sisters! We're almost at the last quarter of the year and Sanguinala are drawing near :laugh.:

So, I wasn't being serious about those choppa boyz, but I did manage to knock out another ten before the month was out, so I'm claiming it:

They don't have the instructions for Skorpekhs, it turns out.

A fine idea nontheless, brother!

In the end, I solved the problem by just painting the other two and working out which bits actually fit together (except the actual legs, it turns out, but they look OK anyway).

I was about to take a picture and post the completion in the thread, only to realise I straight up forgot to vow them before I started painting.

This is what I get for trying to clear my paint table before Orktoberfest starts! :laugh.:

Still, models done are models done. I'll pop them in the background when I make my next vow!
