Hello guys.

I am posting up a basic question that will hopefully bring bigger discussion. Who is interested in creating a Regiment together with other players to be pitted in a Campaign? I will create the worlds and Scenarios your regiment will get dropped in and you guys decide how it will flow. For this to work though I will need consensus on Who will be either your sergeant or commander depending on how many we get.

Sounds interesting, I'm always down for playing... mostly since I don't have the time to devote to being a GM these days.

The Iron Hands, they are the real emo marines. Seriously. The Dark Angels aren't the ones who sit around cutting off bits of themselves, wearing black, and complaining about weakness and ennui...

My current thoughts of the initial mission will be capturing and securing a forward post in the middle of a war zone. So far we have steel willing to play and another who wants a Skitarii/Enginseer attaché. I am going to keep it here until we have a few more people and I have a good idea of what kind of mix we are working with. Then we will as a group build the regiment identity that you all serve.

I'd love to give Scarlett another go from the OW game that used to run on these boards. She was a Strom Trooper with a love for good food, but down right professional at all times... unless she'd been forced to eat corps starch for two month solid...

Hmm what kind of Regiment would have a Skitarii and a Storm Trooper lol. Well if you guys would like, I have an idea. My Lunar Venatorii Cavalry. If my Skitarii wanted guy agrees a Vox Warfare Specialist, is Skitarii lite and they are the elite unit of my homebrew subsector. I would be happy to dive into it if both of ya agree and we can get more people in. There will be some mechanics we will need to work out probably.

The nice part about Strom Troopers is that they get attached on an as needed basis, so the operation could call for a drop specialist, something that Scarlett is.

I wonder if the only war regiment builder could be twisted to create some kind of admech auxiliary unit?

That's not a bad idea.

MR.

The blanket of fire from the pirates thinned as they desperately tried to kill everyone, a costly mistake the Infantry would exploit.  Another explosion blossomed in a muted boom, tearing a man off his feet, sending him flying backwards almost gracefully, to crunch down fifteen metres from the initial point of impact, trailing blood from a ruptured knee joint.  Low gravity combat defied the usual expectation of seeing violent movements realised quickly.  It was horrifically deceptive.

Maybe something like

Homeworld - Forgeworld (cost 4)

CO - either fixed or Phlegmatic (cost 1)

Regiment type - line infantry (cost 2)

Training Doctrine - Defenders of the Omnissiah (cost 3)

Training Doctrine - Close Order Drill (cost 2)

We can do something like that since there is the interest. I have a ready made regiment that kind of goes that way as an entire section is trained by Techpriests. We have Two wanting Skitarii and one Storm Trooper.

Like I said over PM, I'd prefer a Stromtrooper, but I can roll with anything.

Sorry to butt in, I just had a quick mosey down the thread, and I know there is an admech unit/regiment in one of the books for only war.

Techpriest Enginseer Nor Erlok reporting for duty.

I only previous role playing experience was over on 40k online, in a Imperial guard game (using normal 40k table top rules) and Nor Erlok was my character then. That particular game only last a few months, so I would like to give the character another go, possibly with some character fluff adjustment as this was back in 2013/14 (so before the current AdMech and Skitarii and related fluff was around) and some of the details will be out of date/nonsensical but here is Nor Erlok character details (copy pasted) from back then, I have to cringe a bit reading over it again, what was I thinking back then?

If not doing my first choice, I'd be happy to rock a weapons specialist.

Steel your first choice still fits. Scarlett the Storm Trooper kind of fits most scenarios I have.

Trokair wants to be specifically a Enginseer but I will be doing the warhead for the group as to balance the party.

Black Cohort wants a Mechanicus tied unit which is easily done though question is what do you want to be in said unit?

I was thinking a weapon specialist.  Ad Mech are going to have a lot of weapons more complex than a Las gun.  Probably has a designation rather than a name as Ad Mech doesn't seem to care about personal details of the majority of their staff.

I would love to submit an idea for this game. I don't have an idea yet of what kind of character I'd like to play, though. Give me a day or so and I'll get something drawn up.

And as Komrade_Atomic mentioned, there is a book for Only War that contains AdMech/Skitarii content. I don't remember the name, but when I find my hard drive tomorrow I can get you the name of it.

I may have to hold off on joining for now, as I'm having trouble finding the aforementioned hard drive. :(
