Is there a way to link YouTube vids as I can’t find it?

As in if I linked it here for example there would be a YouTube box below this text I’m writing of a YouTube video because I can’t find any way of doing it. I used to know how to get video boxes up on forums years ago but I can’t for the life of me remember how to do it and I searched the 101 forum guide and didn’t see it anywhere.

The conversion of a YouTube video URL to a video box here was an automatic software function, not anything that anyone had to do.

All I did was enter the URL:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eGTkzyYElLs
Note that I moved this to Amicus Aedes because there isn't really a "suggestion" in this discussion. Nor is it a bug report because, as you can see above, it works fine. Edited by Brother Tyler

Note, however, that there is no youtube BBCode loaded to our software.

Taking the link you provided...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKg8oPF4xfk

And if I put it in the YouTube BBCode...

[youtube]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKg8oPF4xfk[/youtube]

Clearly the YouTube BBCode works, so if that's what you need to do to get your YouTube videos to show up here, go for it.

Looking at the post in which you provided the link, did you put the URL in the URL BBCode? Or did the software do that for you? Your post is written as:

[url=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKg8oPF4xfk]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKg8oPF4xfk[/url]
That will get converted to...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKg8oPF4xfk

...which is what you're getting.

Normally, the software will automatically modify a post so that a URL will have the URL BBCode added even if the poster didn't include it when they submitted the post. Regardless, as soon as you put a YouTube video URL inside the URL BBCode, it will turn the URL into a link instead of a video. If you put just the URL of a YouTube video (without BBCode), the software should convert it to the video.
