Scratch built desert terrain

Hey everyone! So I got bored a few nights ago and started scratch building some terrain for my home made game board that I’m starting to work on. These 3 pieces are kind of my “proof of concept” into making terrain on the cheap! All the terrain is made of wall spackle, foam board from Walmart, can of tan and brown spray paint, hobby sand and pebbles, and hot glue. Please let me know where you think I can improve!

Looks looks excellent.

If you really wanted to add something then perhaps some extremely old, worn, torn posters on the building perhaps?

One suggestion for easy terrain that would go well in a desert setting:

A stack of pipes. From a dollar store you can probably get some kind of pipe (heck, a plunger or broom with a plastic pole will do), cut it into about 6” lengths, glue three together (two on the bottom, one on the top), thin paper strips as belts holding them together. Quick and easy to paint, too.

Very cool looking terrain. It might be the picture quality, but you could drybrush the rocks a slightly lighter color, it could make them pop out a bit more, and look more weather-beaten and sun-baked. I wouldn't change anything major though, your concept is defs proven!

Nice work!

Maybe some shrubs, old worn rusty weapons, rubble etc. Maybe have it look like battle has been taken place there.

I plan on adding some shrubs and going to make som piles of pipes out of straws, and I’m sure in my bits box I can find some old weapons and other stuff I could add on to give the terrain some more character.

I’d definitely be interested in that, if you don’t mind?
