Orpheus108
Greetings All, A question about targeting. The situation came up in a battle with a friend tonight, i had a unit of 3 suppressors go after his necron overlord, he moved in front of his overlord 3 scarabs bases in his movement so i couldnt target his overlord. My question is, do they count as the closest unit to target in the shooting phase as per the normal normal rules?

Xenith
The scarabs are closer to the shooting unit, and are a unit of 3 or more models, so the look out sir rule applies - Page 219 of the rulebook covers this. The scenario where you could target the lord is: 1) the lord moves in front of the scarabs, so the lord is within 3" of a unit of 3 models, but is the closest target 2) you shoot a different unit at the scarabs to kill one base, meaning the unit now has 2 models and doesnt count for look out sir 3) you maneuver so the lord is the nearest target 4) you use a unit that ignores look out sir like eliminators.
