GK 2000, Mortal Wound spamming list

So had another bombshell of an idea, and was interested to hear your opinions on it. I believe I explored most of the depths of the Escalation style lists (as well as Fury style lists), now I'm shifting my focus on Convergence style lists. Just to be clear, what I mean by convergence is mortal wounds spamming lists, convergence is one element. Then this list became a question of how many units and tips and tricks can I fit into the one list, as well as maintaining a competitive structure to it.

What a juicy list! It has a little bit of everything. It looks alot like a list I just created but you took it the opposite direction. Really solid I might just have to copy it if you don't mind. Do you think you can deny abor with this list?

Feel free to, haha!

No, until we get our 2W, 3W update we will still be haemorrhaging points because of that fact. That being said, this list has the capability to be played defensively. Park the 10m Paladin Squad on one point, the 10m purifier on the other, and load the terminators up on the Rhino. Then you have the BC/Voldus running around with the Interceptors and the Apothecary.

I did have an idea now where I rack up the points to have a razorback for some Astral Aim shenanigans with the lascannon and loaded up with a strike squad, but that's probably something too niche of a tangent to explore further.. at least currently.

I think its a nice list.

1st of all I would double check the points for your paladins. They should be a little cheaper. I'm assuming weapon options are due to what's modelled. Personally I would not have a hammer on the ordinary terminator squad. My reason for this is it makes the squad under 200pts which means if you take while we stand we fight you would have to choose paladins, interceptors and purifiers. Which means you can do combat squad shenanigans. Also it would free some points to put psycannons on the paladins or psilencers on the purifiers. (I know you prefer psilencers).

Personally I would change relics slightly. Artisan nullifier on the librarian and put the santic shard on the brother captain. (Yes I rate edict that highly)

Otherwise I notice on your comment above about putting terminators in the rhino's unfortunately they are not allowed in

Not a bad list, but to me it looks like you're trying to cover a lot of bases at once, whereas I think Grey Knights kind of need to focus either on being as resilient as possible, or maxing out/spamming a certain vector of damage output. You mention this being an attempt at a "Convergence" list... but then mention mortal wounds? Isn't Convergence the psiweapon tide? I'm not sure if you've really gone the whole mile needed to get the most out of your mortal wound output, to be honest.

Rhinos are cool, and can definitely deliver the Strikes/Purifiers into Smite range... I'm curious as to why you've taken the Brother Captain? He doesn't seem to be offering a whole lot with his aura, as most of your smiting units are looking to get within that 12" range anyways. Could you get better mileage out of a second Librarian or a Chaplain, maybe even a Champion? I feel like to really build on a mortal wound list, you'd need three main "elements" to the list. Firstly a fast-moving MSU group that can get a good number of smites off on turn one, clear some chaff and possibly jam your opponent's lines with a couple of lucky charges (Interceptors, Gated Paladins or Terminators). Secondly, some backline units that have some longer ranged guns, supported by a character "castle" capable of boosting Smite/cast ranges, casting rolls (Bro-Cap, +1 to cast aura stratagem, Nullifier Matrix, etc.). Thirdly, a deep striking element that can come in turn two or three and lay down a solid number of mortal wounds on a precise target (think a combination of Purge Soul and an Ancient's leadership buff, a Vortex/Sanctic Shard, Reflining Flame, essentially packing a number of multi-mortal wound dealing powers). This is my own opinion, not a certified fact!

As far as your list goes, I can kind of see how you would Dynamic Insertion the Purifiers with the Bro-Cap nearby to get a d6 smite off... but that can be fairly easily shut out by a canny player. I just struggle to really see a directing strategy to the list. It feels like a few tricks kind of thrown together in the hope that they'll all go off perfectly. In the event that they do, you'll throw a massive punch... in the event that they don't... I feel you'll struggle to hang on to any lead in points you might get.

Just my 2 cents, I'd be happy to hear in full how you plan on using it :)

Interesting, i wouldnt have figured youd use the interceptors as a character screen. whats the thought process behind that? Also i agree with gnomeo about the relic change, i think it would make more sense.

You are definitely right it's a trick list that still needs a lot of refinement. I'll have an updated list soon, and answer the questions that will be relevant (to the new list) then.
