Taking down a C'Tan - Phases and the 3 wound rule.

Hi all, popping over to the Tombs for some advice/clarification, and couldn't find a similar topic:

Basically, the C'Tan rule says it can be dealt no more than 3 wounds per phase. On first glance, and last time we played, both my opponent and I assumed this was psychic, shooting, and assault, however a shower thought hit me that there are actually a lot more phases now, namely the charge phase has been separated from the fight phase, so can I:

Deal 3W to the C'Tan in the charge phase, through some rule like overwatch, Incursor Mine, Hammer of Wrath etc, then I can hit him again in the fight phase for another 3W?

Thanks for any input!

Yes. Don't forget the movement phase either, as that's when quite a lot of effects can go off - notably from the C'tan themselves.

For necron players it'll often be worth using another unit to soak overatch on a C'tan's behalf, and to watch out for stuff like Mawlocs popping up, to avoid this kind of thing.

Yep!

I'm not sure if there's any means of doing wounds to one in Command or Morale, but they are distinct phases so if there is a means of doing it then those would count too.

Also stuff like the Drukhari stratagem "Eviscerating Flyby" which lets them do mortal wounds in the movement phase are ideal for this kind of thing.

Yea there are 7 phases in you could conceivably take wounds:

1. Command

2. Movement

3. Psychic

4. Shooting

5. Charge

6. Fight

7. Morale

While some don't have any affects, I'd stress the "yet". Never know what shenanigans GW will pull to help instagib these supposedly super tough models.
