Space Wolves 2000 point list -

First 2000 point list I’ve made and would appreciate any and all input although I’ve not got too much flexibility as I’ve already bought and painted most of them...I won’t let it take all my money.

I’ve decided to go with a list full of models that I like, hopefully relatively competitive and stays true to my idea of space wolves, particularly Iron Wolves.

The Plan:

1: Most Fun part - Run Wulfen Dred and Murderfang up the board to cause a raucous.

2: Wolf Lord + Canis + Thunderwolf Cav strategically run up board targeting the strong targets in strategic positions.

3: Intercessors stay and guard back line objectives

4: Redemptor + Grey Hunters march to the mid board for some flexibility with both Shooting and CC.

5: Blood Claws + Rhino + Lucas go up the board helping out by hopefully shredding some infantry or light vehicles if they have to. Could help out with midboard CC support.

6: Terminators + Chaplain drop in 2nd/3rd turn where needed to hopefully get a charge off. I’m thinking to clear objectives or assist with particularly tricky units.

What are peoples thoughts on the competitiveness? I’ve not tried the list but had some fun with a similarly themed 1500 point list. My aim is to be a bit more competitive whist retaining the fun and heart of the army.

Iron wolves use lots of armor like tanks. Death wolves use cavalry and led by harald and canis. Otherwise I like your plan. The termies and chaplain should do well against most opponents. Can you fit some melta into the grey hunters? I personally like claws and shields on my thunder wolf cav. Lots of attacks hitting on 2s and Reroll wounds. Also saves points to take more stuff

Thanks for the feedback. That’s a good idea with some melta in the GHs I’ll put that in, would be more effective for midboard. Lightning claws seem to be the way forward in 9th so I’ll look in to converting the Thunderwolf Cav as probably not the most point efficient having all them thunder hammers. I’m looking forward to using the terminators and chaplain soon as I like the models and they are a new addition.

I do get the tanks should be in and Thunderwolf out but it works in my mind due to there being at least a quarter of my army being mechanised whilst hopefully still having board control. I imagine there’s been some sort of artillery bombardment and this is just the front line leading the charge with big machines following up. Canis is just there because I like him and I suppose Lucas shouldnt be with iron wolves either however I like him too as he’s a lot of fun to play.
