Knight Errant Tactica

I'm just playing around with lists for ZM and I was wondering if anyone had ever used a generic Knight Errant for anything. Malcador's little errand boys have some neat and fun options, and I was thinking they might be a fun and flavorful addition. I'm looking at attaching one to a loyalist Night Lords force, just for reference. Any hints? I'm not sure if it would be competitive, but it does sound like a good time.

+1 on this request. I've got a Blood Angels list of survivors of the Signus Campaign that hunt Daemonic incursions during the Heresy and been thinking about adding a Knight-Errant to assist with this task. The Oath of Moment requirement is the major impediment to adding one to my list though.

I've used knight errants a few times and you really can't just plug them into a list without considering oath of moment.

Ideally you should build the knight to do something specifically; they have a very flexible set of options and can be tailored to a role. This role should lean in the direction of the oath you want to take, but not make it obvious as if your opponent can block it then you can only shoot for a tie.

The easiest way to leverage them is to take "protect" and slap it on a primarch, while using falsehood to put the knight errant on an outlying objective and have them either sit there or bully any weak scoring units. Your opponent might think you're trying to do the objective oath instead and over commit. If you're adept at keeping your primarch alive then you usually end up with a VP advantage that can't really be made up (depending on the mission).

So here are two examples from some lists I have for my Blood Angels that apply some of this logic:

1) Day of Revelation: Pop on a Jump Pack on the Knight with a Power Fist so he can Deep Strike on turn one with my Jump Pack Preator and other Jump Pack infantry. Although it looks like he's kitted out to protect he Praetor, I actually make his objective Crusader or Hand of the Sigillite and make that play later in the game.

2) I have a tank/transport list where my Preator and Terminator Death Star Deep Strike through a Caestus Ram. I can deep strike the Knight, which is armed with a sniper rifle, to the opponent's side before the Ram shows up in the game and seem I'm playing Crusader or Hand of the Sigillite when I'm actually going for Protector.

Does seem like the way to approach the strategy behind Oath of Moment?
