Infiltrators vs Incursors?

I think one box could allow you to build 5 of each. Probably the best way to start, but if you want big units don't let me hold you back!

well, that would be excellent! There is enough for 2 sgts?
There are two identical set of sprues with 5men on each, in the box. (no helix parts)

Having used a unit of both for several games now, I'm more a fan of the Infiltrators. The 12" DS/Deny bubble has come in useful, and so has the helix adept, while the incursors have done little in games. Admittedly as the rest of my army does the heavy lifting and I use these units to hold the backfield and perform actions/hold objectives. I'll send the incursors forwards, but holding objectives is pretty much all they've done for me in-game. I'm considering swapping them out for 3 Eliminators - they get forward deploy, and can move 12"/turn with the carbine.

Between the two, in small games, I'd try to squeeze the Infiltrators in first. The only reason I'd take incursors over them is if I was really tight on points and needed that ~20pts for something critical. On small boards, a T1 Move+advance from some assault carbine intercessors would probably get them into the same position as incursors, however you lose the sweet, sweet toolkit that comes with the PHOBOS keyword, like Smokescreen and Guerilla tactics.

Is very easy to convert a helix gauntlet.

Have any examples?

I went minimum effort and just painted the helmet and gauntlet of the comms specialist white. At the end of the day, you have a model who is clearly distinct as carrying the piece of wargear.

I don’t have a picture but I used the comm gauntlet bit, added a couple syringy looking bits, and then used a spare apothecary backpack on mine

I used the comm gauntlet, clipped one of the spare antennas in the kit for the injector bit, and added one of the large pouches from the scout kit (there's only one of these large pouches per 5 man bolter scout sprue, I don't think they're included on the sniper scout sprue, I think it's supposed to be an ammo pouch for the heavy bolter drums).  I used a regular infiltrator helmet and not the bulkier comms specialist helmet that Karhedron used.  The infiltrators are supposed to be built with those pouches on one leg and pistol on the other - I did as Karhedron did and put the pistol on the helix adept's left thigh, in a butt-forward crossdraw way, but with the shouldered/slung bolter you can't really put anything on his right thigh.  So I took the ammo pouches he would normally have, clipped them in half vertically, and put those next to the large scout pack on the back of the belt.

Currently debating whether I wan to try clipping and shaving some grenades to try and make the vials of liquid that go on the helix gauntlet.

To be fair, just build one and play them as both. Most people can't tell the difference, and those that do usually do not mind. In terms of usage, I generally prefer infiltrators because of the auto-wound and zoning, but I am happy to play Incursors if I need the points. From 130pts for 5 Infiltrators with Helix down to 105 for base Incursors, you save 25pts per unit, which may make the difference between an extra unit instead of adding useless upgrades on various units to fill the points.

That Helix Gauntlet is a very cool upgrade. Never seen anyone so dejected as when they shot their Hive Guard into my Infiltrators with a -1 (smokescreen) to hit wound on 4+ (Transhuman) to finally get a wound through to have it ignored because of the 10pt upgrade. :)

You dont "shut down" the gauntlet. It forces you to spend more CP.

My conversion for the Gauntlet was to paint one of the bigger pouches a very obvious color (in my case red) and I always tell my opponents its a first aid kit.

Well, Incursors are a deploy last kind of unit for me. I use them deployed on the midfield, ideally within range of cover campers. They are also a great mop up unit after a Whirlwind rains artillery onto an enemy unit.

Defensively, if they have to make a final stand, Haywire mine plus the Deadly Price stratagem makes an opponent wonder just how badly they really want that objective...

Infiltrators are by far a better defensive and camper unit. The helix upgrade is very worth it, and those smoke grenades, yes. They are decent supporting fire, but you want something between them and any melee unit, which will reach their forward position much the faster.
