Adeptus Sororitas Mortal Wound Spam

Several people of picked up on this already in the new Order of Our Martyred Lady supplement, but here is a build which I expect to see some significant competitive play:

<Order of Our Martyred Lady>

-Canoness

*WL Trait 1 -- Righteous Rage (re-roll all hits and wounds)

*WL Trait 2 -- Martyr's Strength (gain +1S/A for each wound lost, up to a max of 2 each)

**Relic -- Blade of Sacrifice (bearer chooses to lose 1-2 wounds and when the sword successfully wounds, it deals Mortal Wounds equal to the amount of wounds you chose to lose instead of normal damage)

***Blessings of the Faithful -- The Emperor's Grace (regain D3 lost wounds each Command Phase and, once per game, deny opponent re-rolls against friendly units within Miracle range)

-Preacher (War Hymn)

-7 Dominions with 4 Artificier-Crafted Storm Bolters

-Rhino

Choose the Passion as your Sacred Rite, load the entire Battle Group into the Rhino during deployment, pre-game move 6", turn 1 disembark everyone, Shoot enemy with Dominion MW Strat (Blessed Bolts) to get 6 MWs pretty consistently on the enemy target. Then, in the charge phase, auto-cast War Hymn on the Canoness (Fiery Orator Strat), have the Canoness activate her Blade of Sacrifice with 2 wounds to herself, then charge in to the enemy target... with all these buffs up, she has 7 attacks (hitting on 2+, re-rollings 1s, 6s explode).... should get about 8 hits through, on average.... at S6, with full re-rolls to Wound, against T5 and below she averages about 7 wounds, so 14 MWs on the unit, plus the original 6 MWs from the Dominion Storm Bolters.... 20 MWs on a T5 and below target... next Command Phase, use The Emperor's Grace to re-heal D3 wounds (hopefully gaining back both the wounds that she inflicted on herself to activate the Blade of Sacrifice, then rinse and repeat as required! ;)

Welp, run it while it lasts if you want. GW won't leave it un-nerfed for long (same as the Razorflail thing for Drukkari from the first Charadon book).

Kind of not anywhere near that level. 14 mortal wounds is a lot, but when you're paying for two characters, using your sacred rite, and 2 cp then it's more in line with actual combos like the noise marine one.

The succubus was a warlord trait and a relic, possibly show stealer. Really only 15 points more than the base cost for an extravagantly higher threat.

Not to mention that a Bloody Rose Canoness with a Blessed Blade and Rapturous Blows hits every bit as hard against targets without invulnerable saves and significantly more so against those with two or more wounds, making this a loadout which definitely has a niche but only truly excels at hitting units with solid invulns, preferably with multiple wounds too. It's great if you can use it in that role but so telegraphed that your opponent is going to know it's coming and be able to work to limit its potential through screening and positioning to make finding charges difficult.

It's a neat gimmick but I'm doubtful it'll really take off competitively beyond early experimentation - could be totally wrong about that though.

Why not? She kills one thing and dies. Or dies to overwatch. She can't run and charge, so she's much slower than the succubus. This combo also requires ditching Vahl, MINIMUM 3CP, is extremely telegraphed, easy to screen, AND leaves you with a T3 character with at most 3 wounds left presumably in your opponents lines. She dies to assault intercessor bolt pistols.

It also requires you to be OoML, which is still bottom half of the orders even after the supplement.

It's a meme, mostly. A potentially very valuable meme that will likely see play in every OoML list (although not with Righteous Rage, generally) but a meme none-the-less.
