Basically have 10 NM squads in a rhino, 3 of them running around for objectives. The Land raider with Lucius and the champ with 5 possessed run around being a distraction carnifex. I keep the DP around two rhinos if I can to give the NM rerolls of 1s and some heroic intervention help if needed.

I know it might not be the most crazy list I've put together but until we get a new codex and 2 wounds I think it is at least fluffy and fun. I ran a version of this all of 8th edition and it was fun.

I would skip the Land Raider and throw in some terminators. Gives you a good hard hitting unit that can troubleshoot as opposed to a points sink tank that will get targetted or ignored. Just foot slog it with Lucius or leave a NM squad as rear D fire support and throw all the LR boys into that rhino.

So I played this against my buddy's Raven Guard today. When I hit him with the veterans of long war, the strat from faith and fire for NM sonic weapons and then endless cacophony that unit after buffing it...oh boy. One 10 man squad cleared off an entire side of the board. He hadn't seen that in action and to say it was  an eye opener would be an understatement.

The list definitely works. I was able to hide the LR from his first turn shooting and the NM dakka cleared out enough of his anti tank that I was able to mop what was left of his anti tank with the LR. Very fun game.

Glad to hear it worked out for you. Now to face one of the new power codices and see how it works. Hate to say it but thats the real test. I played a somewhat competitive Necrons list and stomped custodes and ultramarines. Went against Death Guard and flat out couldnt deal with Morty and all the insane auras and gimmicks that every member of the army had. I havent had the chance to take on dark eldar or admech yet.

I don't think there is any CSM list that could go up against Drukhari or Ad mech or some other souped up tournament list and expect to win. Thankfully my friends and I play casual to what we call "power fluff" games.
