Primus Nullifactors Weapons Swap

Quick question: can the Primus Nullifactor swap out the Aether-Shock Maul for another weapon? Thanks!

It's kind of a two part answer.

 

No you can't swap out the maul since it doesn't fit in the lists of wargear you can trade out for the centurion (i.e, not a combi Bolter or power weapon).

 

But, you can technically assemble your centurion before giving it the consul upgrade. So if you wanted to, you could pre-buy terminator armour and gain the power weapon and Bolter, swap those for a fist/combi of some sort and then buy the consul upgrade and gain terminator armour, maul and wards.

 

It's an extra chunk of points, but chain fists are incredibly useful and arguably support-troop terminators is worth the upgrade cost alone. Also you get sanctic access and are told to select the power rather than generate, so that's pretty strong too.

Thank you, this is extremely helpful. I dropped a Black Shields list on the list sub-forum and the Primus Nullifactor leads a Nullifactor unit with a Thunder Hammer on the Sarg. It gives the unit more punch at a better price point than arming one of the Nullifactors with a Power Fist for 15 points.
