The site does not render properly with Firefox/Gecko anymore, this has been an issue for a while now.  I won't resort to using Chromium based browsers so basically this meant I have pretty much abandoned B&C now.  I was hoping someone would look into this.  Cheers.

Adding to this, the site seems to render on normal separators but not private ones, at least for me. Not sure if it has something to do with any default settings those separators have for cookies or loading content, but that is currently a problem.

I browse in private by default so yes, I can confirm that the issue exists in private tabs, I did not test otherwise.

Do y'all have screenshots?

Here are some examples:

issues with site on firefox private separators
issues with site on firefox private separators

The issue has been appearing for the past weeks on my end.
At first it was inconsistent and clicking on a section of the forum could load that part ok, but now it is always loading like a poorly formated website.

I use Firefox (with normal tabs) and this bug happened to me a few times in the last week(s). I found the solution was to log off, delete B&C cookies,  and log in again. But I have no idea about what triggers it, sorry.

Not my problem, but a fellow user reports that B&C is constantly broken under Firefox (same screens as above, apparently as he describes) on his mobile devices, and he can't log in or change password as he isn't getting the reset mail.

Will advise as Iansalt's post and report back.

Tell your friend to contact the admins and we'll restore his access (i.e., reset his password). If your friend is accessing the site while logged out, he should be able to see the guidance.

I can tell immediately what the issue is, as I brought it up in the cloudflare issues thread.

Your browsers are trying to put Bolter & Chainsword as HTTPS when it's a HTTP website (currently). So all the white is because it's trying to securely connect. I know this is the issue you're experiencing because I was dealing with this earlier in the month.

Basically, do this: Click the little lock icon in your url bar, and disable the secure connection. It'll fix the site immediately.

Uh.. Falling back to unsecure HTTP is not a great solution, will this problem be fixed eventually?

I believe it will be addressed when the forum upgrades it's software, but don't quote me on it.

Yes, the software upgrade/server migration will put the site on https.

It's a private browsing thing, it is more strict on origins so things without https can get blocked - in this case it's the site's stylesheets. If you wish you can disable the protection temporarily by clicking on the padlock icon next to the URL via the connection message, the site will load normally then though it's not much different to browsing on normal mode.

I got this issue when I first visited the site after clearing my browser's cache (Firefox).

It defaulted to the https address, and would not go back to http. This causes the problem if some parts of the site link to page components using http, not https.

http links in a theme running on https

Looking at the code of your side a lot of links are not https, they are the old http.

Logging in seems to have 'solved' the issues, I guess because me accepting a non-secure connection allows Firefox to cache everything that is gathers up via http.

If you force the site into https then all the links to css javascript and parts of the theme will have to be changed to https else the browser will throw an error, with Firefox saying some parts are insecure, and the little padlock is not green but has a strike through it.

All browsers are moving to enforcing https, it's only a matter of time before http will be obsolete. Encrypting this site with Let's Encrypt is free, so grab one and slap on this forum.

Time to break out the terminal and VS Code and start hacking away.

Or leave it, Chrome and Edge don't seem to care, and Firefox market share is decreasing, and leave this issue for tomorrow you.

Cloudflare

I also read above (Gederas) that you use Cloudflare. There is an option to force http to https. Changing that option, if you have that enabled will stop Cloudflare forcing https. Tomorrow you can worry about browsers forcing https.
