So in case anyone else plays WoWs, dev blog post from today is an announcement for the next collaboration between Wargaming's naval combat arcade game and Games Workshop.

Ships: Tier VIII cruiser Cross of Dorn alongside Tier VIII destroyer Ship Smasha, which are similar to Mainz and Fenyang in their parameters respectively*

Camouflages: The Red Threat and The Eternal Crusader;

Commanders with unique voiceovers: Augustin Riegerwald and Grotmaz Smart:

"Warhammer 40,000" container:

"Emperor's Champion" and "The WAAAGH!" flags:

https://wows-blog-st...a/886/phpLfHKMB

"Black Templars Cross", "Orky Glyph", "Ork Scull", and "Mark of the Sworn Brethren" patches.

"Further details at a later date"

* For those not in the know, this means they're going to be clones of Mainz and Fenyang, just like the previous ones being clones of Amagi but with an Imperium and Chaos skin. They MAY get some slight tweaks here and there, but otherwise they'll be identical to Mainz and Fenyang

Edit: The image links seem to be broken

Can't help but feel like those Black Templar symbols read very differently in this context. I understand the World of X communities have sort of an unsavoury reputation, which makes this crossover (while logical) feel a little poorly thought through.

That being said, man that Ork ship looks cool

Not exactly sure what you mean there?

If you're referring to the less than savoury elements... Let's not call the kettle black, as 40k is much more well-known for having those people in it (and is arguably worse with that). Unlike GW however, Wargaming bans people as soon as that information comes to light and not when it's convenient for PR reasons (Arch). In fact, just recently they removed a long-time member of the World of Warships Community Contributor program (Yuro) because of his comments.

Unless you're referring to the fact that they put a Black Templars skin on a German ship? laugh.png Just gonna point out that the Cross of Dorn has nothing that would be objectionable on it, especially since Wargaming goes out of their way to avoid using symbols that are offensive (including pixelating certain symbols that appear in historical photographs for blog posts).

Though to be fair, Black Templars being put on a German ship makes sense, since the Templars are very heavily Germanic. And it wouldn't be the first German-tree ship with a black/white camo like that (Admiral Graf Spee with her "National" camo is rocking a Prussian as all get-out camo)

The Ork one is actually very hilarious from a standpoint of the game's nation's set-up and the history behind said line and ship: It's a reskin of the Fenyang which is in the Pan-Asia line, which is mostly made up of "hand me down" ships. Fenyang for example is actually IJN Akizuki after it was taken by the Chinese. In other words: Ship Smasha is a looted ship that's been looted by Orks laugh.png

Certainly makes more sense than a reskinned Amagi (IJN battlecruiser) for both an Imperium and Chaos ship.

Yknow what, fair point. If World of Warships are being proactive about that stuff, good on them. Thanks for dropping the knowledge bomb!
