New list. I love tanks. LOVE THEM. I wish I could fit a plane or 2 in but maybe in a different list.

The idea is to be as competitive as I can be. Tanks isn't exactly that but my idea is to be as competitive as I can be with Tanks.

Tanks are fun...let me remind you everyone that we can in theory still run lists with 6+ tanks all his hitting on 3s in the right circumstances.

 

We probably want a tripple patrol for this.

P1 - gunnery exp, spotter

This where your 2 Demo-TCs sit

 

P2 - Vostroyan

1 TC and 1 regular tank - first born pride gives the second Russ +1 to hit, inspired tactics hands out an order to him too. I'd probably run these as Punishers, to avoid the whole rolling for shots and failing issue.

 

P3 - Cadians

1 Pask and 1-6 standard Russes. They all get +1 to hit once Pask has lit up a target thanks to overlapping fields of fire and he issues two orders. I'd probably run him with a Battlecannon for range, plus just additional Battlecannon-Russ. That way both of them get reroll 1s and reroll shots. I'd also chuck the relic of Lost Cadia in here, so thay both of them keep that reroll and can maneuver into LOS.

 

The rest of the list you fill with some officers and infantry. I'd probably go with 3 Vostroyan and 3 Cadian infantry squads and 2 units of scions and 1 blob on conscripts in the first one, for maximum bodies. Add in some Platoon Commanders for move, move, move and whatever else you fancy. The list will eat 4CP a turn and starts with 8 in this form, so you should be able to fuel it for 3 turns if you exercise some restraint on the rerolls.

 

Is it competitive? It'll work into some lists, but you'll struggle on heavy boards and you won't be able to afford much quality non-LoS. But...you wanted tanks. :D

I have run a similar list.

 

Move the Master of Ordnance to the Cadian detachment. He does not benefit from your custom regiment traits, but will get re-roll 1's as he will just be hanging out back with the Manticores. Yes, not if he moves and he often needs to move to get a good shot. But -1 to hit evens out with reroll 1s. So makes him less dependent on LoS.

 

And if you can find 10 points. Get Hunter Killers on the Manticores. Flat6 is no joke. Even if you need LoS. Plus it does not have blast, so you can shoot it in combat in case someone tags you.
