Lord La sadies Posted October 27, 2021 Share Posted October 27, 2021 (edited) Hello! I recently got my hands on the new Death Guard models and I have to say, they are absolutely stunning. The level of detail and the overall design is just fantastic. However, as much as I loved the models, I couldn't shake off the feeling that they were a bit cluttered. Don't get me wrong, the attention to detail is impressive, but I personally prefer a cleaner, more streamlined look for my models. Speaking of cluttered designs, I've never been a big fan of the tentacles that are often present on Nurgle's creations. To me, they look more like the marines are possessed rather than simply being corrupted by the Plague God. That's why I decided to declutter my Plague Marines and make them a bit more subtle. I removed some of the excess tentacles and other ornamental elements to give them a more cohesive and unified appearance. So far, I've finished working on my first gunner out of a total of 14 models that I plan to convert. I'm really happy with how it turned out and I can't wait to show you guys the rest of the squad once I'm done with them. I hope you like my take on the Death Guard and that you'll consider giving it a try yourself. I've been thinking about decluttering a few of my own DG when I start my next kit, and seeing how good your results are here I'll definitely give it a shot. The FW head looks excellent too! It's really annoying how quickly they sold out. On the bright side, I can at least focus on painting the one I already have. It's a chance for me to unleash my creativity and make that model truly stand out.
