Preparing for Crimson Fists in 2022

The upcoming HH reboot starter set has got me pining for beaky fists mainly using the AoD ruleset (Imperial Fists, obviously), but also a few more 40k elements too to represent the new chapter getting new toys, so I'm going to use this thread to bounce ideas off you fine fraters.

The aim is to be a 1st generation Crimson Fists force, so I'm going to get Polux and use him accordingly, but obviously no Dorn or Sigismund.

What about Phalanx Warders and Templar Brethren? Would/could either of those be squeezed into a brand new Crimson Fists chapter, or would I perhaps be better simply running them as Veterans or Breachers, or not at all given the proliferation of 'VII' on their armour and wargear?

I am going to use the new Black Templar Castellan model as a Chaplain, even if he may be a touch bigger than the firstborn around him. None of his armour screams primaris in design, and only has a single templar icon that I can see - but he could easily have been a zealous Sigismund-ite that wants to begin the even more zealous journey of the chaplaincy.

I've got around 800 years to play with with Polux as chapter master, so is there a list somewhere of what vehicles were around when?

Razorback, Ironclad Dread, Storm Talon/Raven/Hawk, Scout bikes, Land Speeder Storm etc etc

Finally, the Mark VI armour is pretty much brand new at this point, and the Crimson Fists wouldn't have a lot of veterans being that they are the 'youngest and more level headed' of the Imperial Fists - so do my 1st generation Veterans, such as they are, get the MKVI because they are worthy of the best new toys, or would they keep their MKIV and III and so the normal line troops get the VI?

I think Phalanx Warders were too much of an original IF unit, but it could kinda work for early CS breachers. Templar Brethren definitely no, those were Sigismund boys. The new BT Castellan is also too ornate and a iconic BT mini, I think. But maybe with some customization could work.

In M30-M31 vehicles should be pretty much the same as they were in the Heresy but with more Mars pattern stuff (rhinos etc) and less Anvillus/Deimos, but have in mind that the introduction of the Codex reforms changed the way they fought (vets as tacticals, no support squads, heavy squads should be MSU as devastators...) and a lot of the heavy stuff was removed/mothballed. I think the scout bikes, land raider storm and typhon are fine, as I don't recall those having definite introduction dates in post heresy lore. But Tempests, razorbacks, stormravens, LR phobos variants, etc.  are all post M36 stuff. Ironclads already existed in 30k.

If you are going to use the new beakies, those are sized as modern CSM, so older marks and current Mk7+ will look small next to them (unless we get new kits). I'd suggest mixing a few of them with mk4-7 parts like helmets, pauldrons, and arms, but keeping the new torsos (if this is possible). I would not use "mk7 backpacks", IIRC those are mean to be introduced much later and originally mk7 used mk4 backpacks (just like in the change from 2e to 3e mk7 models). No mk8 parts whatshoever.

Termies should have the crux terminator, but current kits will look small (with the exception of the Space Marine Series 2, those look almost the correct size next to a CSM)

Warning head cannon- I always liked to think that IF's stuck with indomni terminators, BT received the cata's and CF's whatever tartaros suits were left. IF with indomni to keep termi numbers high, BT and CF with fewer suits but they match their respective strengths (BT assault, CF tactical flexibility). I think terminators would be a good point of difference. (post heresy on the legion split)
