Hi,
So, considering the schedule for the first phase of the project Kelborn has put up, thought it might be a good idea to compartmentalize discussion around the different factions and the planet.

This thread is for discussing the Adeptus Mechanicus involvement in the warzone.

  1. Should there be a necron cult?
  2. If so, are they the only adeptus mechanicus forces that appear or will there be a hidden enemy theme?
  3. If there are several Adeptus Mechanicus forces, should they come from the same forge world (or forge system), or should several be involved?
  4. Should they be "normal" forge world arch/magoses, or perhaps should some be from an Explorator fleet?
  5. Should there be admech elements on world in force prior to the emergence of the necron cult (for example, tasked with maintaining the hive-city dredgers which are the first to turn up xenotech...) or should they all come in after the beginning of the war?

Let's go AdMech Civil War!

Surely this can only end well. :teehee:

Proposal: The Adeptus Mechanicus faction should we where we make use of the Dia de los Muertos iconography, in the event that we do wind up creating our own faction.

Just think of the inscrutable, brightly decorated Tech Priests, and the processions of gaudily-painted, blank-faced skitarii and servitors.

Also, servo skulls with flowers, swirls of colour and maybe the odd moustache painted on them. :ermm: :laugh.:

I can very well imagine that looking absolutely magnificent!

Exactly.

In addition to smaller Houses we could make use of several AdMech cults, imperial institutions and such, who all want to "rule" the world.

The current governor barely keeps up peace but dies shortly after the tomb world is discovered/ the Necrons began to act, leaving the imperial forces in disarray.

Aside from the obvious conflict, the arriving Marines might also have to deal with the political battlefield OR this could be an entry point for an Inqusitorial force/ team.

My vision for the Admech. Is two fold and honestly I do not think needs a complex theme.

The first Exploratory force arrive on the planet to investigate. They go to the ocean floor to never report in.

A second force is dispatched and arrive to eventually find them as a Necron Cult. Instigating the initial conflict.

I wrote this in the "Flashpoint Liber- Astra Militarum and Inquisition" thread:

If this is an ocean world, I think Skitarii will be more appropriate as defenders. A Skitarii legion can more easily acquire Onagers modified to fight UNDERwater as well as on land, than an Astra Militarum regiment can acquire amphibious tanks useful in both environments; a Skitarius can more easily acquire and then use augmetic gills to let him fight underwater, than a guardsman can acquire and then use scuba gear; and we all know who can get their hands on dual purpose guns (both infantry small arms, and self-propelled artillery) that can fire supercavitating projectiles to hit underwater targets, and regular projectiles to hit those outside the water.
